Interesting to see that during that bad stretch, Coleman has actually lowered his ERA.

I'll be there tonight a few rows back of FR Amy. We're 0-1 in games I've seen at MP South this year, so hopefully we can turn it around.

So is this a one time thing or maybe more of a permanent change if Hairston does well (ie goes 2-4 or something.) At least now we can't say it's been more than a month since Yuni didn't start a game.

McGehee is a Cub killer, even this year if my memory is any good. So I don't mind him starting vs the Scrubs. Besides, I've given up expecting any significant amount of playing time for Green- it's just not going to happen this year.

Even if McGehee isn't the player he once was every player has a hot streak in them. Even Yuni. I'm just hoping it happens before the end of the season.

This just shows us that Roenicke thinks the lead is insurmountable. He wants to rest Yuni so he can be fresh for the playoffs. I'm not sure whether or not this should be in blue.

STL with 2 in the first. Is it wrong that I'm cheering for STL so we can clinch at home?
Remember what Yoda said:

I vote for a sweep of the Cubs combined with the Classies winning tonight and sweeping the Mets. That way, the Brewers can clinch at home. To further that ideal situation, Gallardo makes quick work of the Marlins so we clinch with a win, rather than seeing the Cards lose while the Brewers are still playing.

I know this isn't too relevant to the Brewers, but the Red Sox have given up three runs in the first to Baltimore - still one out. If they loses tonight, they will only be 1 game up on the Rays. How unbelievably awesome would it be if the Rays overtook the Sox?!

Yeah, I wanna clinch ASAP. It would be nice to clinch at home, but I just want us to win games. I also don't want the Cards to make the playoffs though, so they can lose for that reason too. And also, yeah I would love to see the Sox miss the playoffs. Although the Yankees not making it would be better, but that won't happen.

Put me in the ASAP bunch too. I've given this way too much thought:

Tuesday would be great for me, if possible, as we are still planning on watching the game at UW-Madison's Union South, and it's always more fun to celebrate with other fans.

Wednesday's a bit problematic for me, as I have a medical appointment at 4:00 and the Brewers-Cubs game should be ending while I'm there. I'd hate to miss the live moment, but I'd hate to reschedule the appointment too.

Thursday's OK, but slightly awkward: what's the protocol for celebrating a division championship when my team has an off day and its opponent has a day game and I have a day job? Whoop quietly in the library while watching Gameday?

If "ASAP" means Friday or later, fine, they clinch at home and chances are 5 of 6 that I'm in attendance. Ultimately, whatever it takes; but the less drama, the better. As long as it's before September 28, it'll be the earliest clinch in franchise history. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

For what it's worth, the Phillies have the bases loaded, two out in their half of the 3rd, down 3-1, with Placido Polanco up. Fingers crossed? or is it big-boy time for Kyle Lohse? (That last part made me a little sick.)

Edit: So did the outcome (a big boy strikeout for Lohse).

Atlanta is also losing. Things are tightening up in the wildcard race. And while nobody in the media seems to be watching, the Giants are right in that race now too.

I won't mind at all if the Cards keep winning. They can then watch helplessly as the Brewers win the division anyway.

As far as clinching is concerned. I just hope its not Thursday. I'd prefer it to be at Miller Park, but for the players sake, I'd imagine they'd feel so much more gratified if they clinched on their own terms.

On topic, I'm sure Narv Dog is anxious to do better in his previous start. Let's get that magic number down even further!!

Thursday would be an awful day to clinch, but it's going to be a party atmosphere Friday at Miller Park no matter what. There better be some MVP chants for Braun--as soon as they clinch the MVP public relations push is going to take over.

At this juncture it looks like Friday at the latest, with Wednesday or Thursday being the most likely.

I also have to admit, I am kind of pulling for the Classies as well. Arizona would be a good 1st round opponent and I would love to see a Brewers-Cardinals NLCS. We can finally avenge 1982.
