Unless he had thrown 20+ pitches last inning, there was really no excuse to not put K-Rod back in for the 9th. Although, I knew Roenicke would pull him anyway. That's what he does.

I haven't watched this Viciedo guy except for these last couple games, but he seems like an incredibly lucky hitter. He's like Gomez in that he looks like he's just trying to swing with all his might and pull everything, but then sometimes gets lucky and gets one off the end of the bat with enough power that it finds a gap.

I feel like he actually pitched pretty well to the next two guys. They sure didn't hit the ball very well. AJ rolled over one and beat the shift on a dribbler and Viciedo dinked one off the end of the bat.

 

Of course now Veras walks Alexei to load the bases...
