Anybody else doing the road opener in Boston this year? I'm going to Friday (home opener / WS celebration) and Sunday games.

Anybody got any tips on visiting the city/Fenway?

Man, I really want to but not sure I can swing it. I'm really jealous that you will be there for two games! Do you live in the Boston area?

Not, not at all. I live in Salt Lake City, but travel for a living and happen to be in NYC earlier in the week, so am just driving up.

I'll be at the Saturday evening game -- excited for Peralta / Buchholz.

35 years of Fenway visits as a local (50 miles south), but I'm not big on suggestions. Do make sure you get all the flavor of the blocks surrounding the ballpark before you commit to the Yawkey Way entrance street from where you're then restricted to the ballpark property.

If you're going Friday / Sunday and leaving Saturday for tourism, you can't go wrong (weather permitting, good walking shoes) with Faneuil Hall and the Freedom Trail.

I've never taken the Fenway Tour but have heard very good things about it, especially if you get a great guide. That link indicates no tour on the 4th (Opening Day Friday).

The last two times the Brewers were in town, season ticket holders told me that only the Cardinal and Phillie fans showed up in bigger numbers. However, I expect that number to be down quite a bit this time, given the opening weekend and non-ideal travel time of year.

Enjoy and Go Brewers!

Me and the wife will be at the Saturday evening game.

The fans are polite and respectful, and unlike Cubs fans, actually know baseball.

I was at the last Brewers series at Fenway (despite not living on the east coast at the time), and took the Fenway tour. I'd recommend it as well. There was a large Brewers contingent that time, but I suspect there'll be lower numbers this year.

Be sure and get a Fenway Frank!
