  1. Given how much he is usually never afraid to call a spade a spade, I'll give him a little grace for sugar coating this one.
  2. Makes me wonder if this was leftover parts from failed attempts at landing a SP? I can see the benefit of getting more catching depth but Yoho seems like a lot to get that. Unless the org was really low on him and just simply wanted to be rid of him, of which there's indications that was the case.
  3. Having been about 1.5 games into the opposition's broadcast, two things are striking: SNY in both its pre, post, and in-game broadcast pulls absolutely no punches when talking about the performance of the team. I suppose it's a bit expected (and a bit comical?) at this point, but is a stark contrast to the generally complementary, but critical when necessary Brewers broadcasts. Is Keith Hernandez... ok? I've heard about how he's been increasingly sentimental as he's gotten older, but his tone and anecdotes make me wonder if he's genuinely depressed.
  4. Shows how good a teammate Yelich is, picking his teammate who failed to GIDP with a GIDP of his own.
  5. They will just declare bankruptcy and force the league to bail them out again. Then start the cycle fresh.
  6. I was about to compare his dropoff with a certain ex-Cardinal who stunk it up for a number of years with negative WAR until the organization finally had the bravery to tell him he was finished.
  7. Joey Ortiz HR and Yelich XBH, someone has activated the secret cheat reactor underneath the field.
  8. Pirates challenging the call in a 13-2 game. We used to be a proper country.
  9. I had a bad feeling that insurance run would come into play.
  10. Are there any other racing XXX that are actually good? I guess the bar is pretty low for the mid-inning entertainment, but it seems like most of them just kind of exist for the sake of existing.

  12. The ballpark itself is fine, modern, if not a bit sterile and generic, in a good kind of way. Reminded me a bit of Miller Park actually. The fans were what you'd expect from a recent-ish expansion franchise, a good core group of supporters but not the generational type of fandom you'd see in other fanbases.
  13. XBH from our sluggers Mitchell and Hamilton.
  14. In his time as a Brewers coach, has Daniel Vogelbach ever been observed wearing his hat fully on his head?
  15. It must be infuriating to other teams to give up two runs from two walks and a hit to one of the worst regular hitters in the Major League.
  16. Is Bobby Witt, Jr. cooked or are we just that good?
  17. As a slightly younger fan, I agree with you. Colored pants should stay in the history books unless the team is really going for a tracksuit look. I'll also be a stickler and insist the home jersey has the club's nickname written in block letters over white or pinstripes, and the road uniform in gray or a color with the city name written in script. The alternative with the dark blue and script is certainly a sharp look and I can see not wanting to dilute that, but something just doesn't look right with "Milwaukee" in block letters, just like how it looked weird to have "Brewers" in the script in the 2000s.
  18. Silver Lining is that we forced Greg to use his best reliever in the fourth inning.
  19. I have a hard time convincing myself Shoeless Joe should be admitted, he admitted to a grand jury he threw the games and married a 15 year old. Maybe he's objectively less of a terrible human being than Pete Rose but it seems like the arguments for his admission are more baseball lore than anything at this point.
  20. I'd love to see a metric like average revenue per user (ARPU) that might give some nuance to the public attendance numbers. We already know that our TV revenue is among the lowest, but my guess is that the revenue per fan or ticket sale is pretty low as well. My guess is that the biggest factor is that Milwaukee is well below other small markets like KC or MSP in measures like GDP https://www.statista.com/statistics/248083/real-gross-domestic-product-gdp-of-the-united-states-by-metropolitan-area/, there's simply less money around to spend, both by individuals and businesses. Fans of the Marlins, Mariners, and Twins have more of a right to be outraged, owners sitting on goldmines who are either pocketing the profits or too incompetent to convert the opportunity to revenue. Twins in particular, who had a history of success, a loyal fanbase, yet had a billionaire owner threatening to have the team contracted to get a free stadium.
