Surprise ends a five-game losing streak (now 10-8 overall) with a 4-0 win.

 

Yadiel Rivera, playing third base and leading off, was 2-for-4 with a double. His 1.094 OPS is 3rd in the entire league.

 

What a push RHP Jacob Barnes is making for a 40-man spot (LHP Mike Strong used a similar Fall League stint last year to do just that). Click that link for the numbers through six relief appearances.

Nicky Delmonico was 0-for-4 and is batting .114, not exactly rooting for him.

 

As for Friday's TV game ,we get LHP Josh Hader, as Jeff noted. We should get Yadiel Rivera as well.

 

With Michael Reed (minor knee injury) done and Brett Phillips overseas, Brewer fans are done to two position players -- Rivera and taxi squad member Nathan Orf. Taxi players play on Wednesdays and Saturdays, but Orf missed Wednesday's game, hopefully he's OK.

 

With the Fall Star Game on Saturday (Rivera, Barnes, Magnifico), perhaps the AFL will let the taxi guys play Friday and we'll see Orf on TV.

Hader with 3 shutout innings. Gave up lead off single in his 3rd and then struck out the side. Sat at 95 and hit 98. Nasty slider too......very impressive

This guy thinks he might profile as a reliever. Looked like starter material to me. @jeffmoore_5: @BrewerNation Some of both. I think it's a bullpen profile long term bc of the effort in delivery, but three pitches gives him a chance.

Team USA Baseball is in Taiwan for the upcoming Premier 12 tournament.

 

They played a "warmup game" this AM (our time) against Chinese Taipei, and down to their final out, this happened (tweet):

 

.@Brett_Phillips8 hits a 2 out bomb over the right field fence! We are tied at 3-3 in the 9th. #TeamUSA

 

It was Phillips' lone AB of the game.

 

Of course, a good question might be what was USA doing down 3-2 in the 9th to Chinese Taipei -- it's a global game, everyone!
