Kevin Mench always reminds me of the Carlos Lee trade, which had very little to do with Kevin Mench even though people insisted it was all about him. He was the throw in guy that didn't matter. It also reminds me of people saying Nelson Cruz was a 'throw in' which simply wasn't the case at all. The deal wasn't fair if you don't include Cruz. He was a key component for the Rangers. It also took steroids to make him useful after he cleared waivers once and was awful for a good 3 more years.
