Ramirez' problem is his reverse splits. He's been extremely tough on RH hitters and good but not great vs. LH hitters. Still Zagurski hasn't exactly shut down lefties either.

 

I'm at a loss why they haven't been a bit more aggressive promoting a guy like Brad Kuntz.

While I think the value of Ramirez hitting can be overstated I do think there would have been some value this past weekend where they had a very thin bench and few pinch hitting options. They have to make a decision on Ramirez again after the season since he is a free agent so it appeared like the perfect time to at least take a look at him. They then could have either optioned him or DFA him when Miley was ready. Ramirez needs to look elsewhere if he doesn't get a shot at the majors in 2018.
