  1. It is also Roberto Clemente day in Pittsburgh and all of baseball so many players will be wearing 21 today.
  2. Bill Hall was on a lot of bad teams but think he would have fit in nicely on the current day team.
  3. Naylor as well, which was last Sunday.
  4. I don't think there is a need to trade an outfielder. Nobody in the minors really pushing for one of the outfield spots. Frelick is a really good fourth outfielder that can plug into a starting role when guys get injured. Jett Williams is the next guy up and he is probably just as likely to get traded. If there is a season in 2027 and Adamczewski plays well they can always find room for him just like Lara. Things tend to work themselves out.
  5. Nice job by May, kind of felt he would have had an outing like this against the Reds last week as well if not for the rain. Keep it going these next two starts and head into the playoffs on a positive note. Nice job by Stallings, hopefully they keep him around as he has done well in his role thus far. No reason to keep churning the 14th pitcher right now if he is doing the job since there are a number of off days the rest of the season . Bullpen should be good these final two games of the series being fully rested for two days.
  6. Great series for the Brewers, demoralized the Cubs and increased their lead over the Braves, nearly securing a first round bye. Don't know why anybody would get too worked up about a garbage time reliever that has no chance of being on the playoff.roster.
  7. Since 8 and 7 were the magic numbers today, here is an image from that '87 team courtesy of #7.
  8. Yep, remember being a kid in 1987 and watching Sportscenter on repeat that day to watch that highlight to beat the Yankees.
  9. I do wonder if the Brewers keep Sproat up the rest of the year or decide to option him down at some point. If he stays up he will just barely be over 1 year of service time after the season. If the Brewers really think he can be a positive part of the rotation going forward it seems like a waste to roster him the rest of the season when he may barely pitch.
  10. Since they knocked off 3, here is Bobby Portis shooting one
  11. Gave it right back, can't build any momentum. Started with that horrible Naylor at bat.
  12. He's due, with his cycles in 2018 and 2022. Yelich appears faster these past couple of weeks, maybe he can leg out a triple.
  13. I'm going Saturday and Sunday, hoping for good May and Harrison this weekend.
  14. I win today by the brewers and get the rare 3 numbers taken off to 11.
  15. Hopefully Harrison is being honest and he isn't injured. If he isn't injured I agree just sending him to the IL doesn't fix anything, he and the team need to figure it out before the playoffs.
  16. That Burnes trade is paying off this season. Ortiz the whole second half and though Hall's season stats are good he has looked even better after coming back from the IL.
  17. Harrison is giving me Shaun Marcum vibes. Don't know how they can trust him in the playoffs
  18. The Brewers don't tend to carry 13 pitchers, they have not done so in recent history. Maybe they do this year because that is their strength versus having a Lockridge or Naylor sit on the bench. Having Gasser face some lefties or provide some length in a blowout might have more value.
  19. The Braves are on a really nice run right now and it all started with that final game against the Brewers. At the time the tiebreaker was mentioned but if the Brewers won they would have had such a big lead over them that it didn't seem like a concern. Now that the Braves have not lost since then they are only three games back of the Brewers. The Brewers have to keep the gas on to keep that one seed, don't need another 2025 September.
  20. Both Uribe and Romero pitched yesterday. Would think the Brewers want Uribe available for the Cubs series so maybe an Anderson option on Monday to get Uribe back on the roster and Romero called up Tuesday when rosters expand.
  21. We are pretty spoiled of 3.33 is cromulent for a pitcher. However, he is perhaps cromulent as a starter and exceptional as a reliever, maybe not even cromulent level as a starter.
  22. I know a number of White Sox fans and for about a month after the All Star Break heard a lot of complaining about how bad Peters was, had something like a 300 OPS after the break and then suddenly became Barry Bonds.
  23. If May is good to go then just have him take Gasser's original spot on Sunday. If they really want May to start against the Cubs then will be difficult to avoid a Gasser option as they would need a starter Sunday.
  24. Also keep in mind the Brewers have an open 40 man spot so really doesn't have to be a guy currently on the 40 man.
