Eh, I'd rather lose like that. It was over and done quickly. The top of the 9th yesterday was like someone slowly shoving a rusty nail into one of your eyes while holding your other eye open.

That's not entirely on Hosmer. He's sprinting in to try to catch a ball that is literally 10 feet away from where the catcher is just standing and pointing. Should Hosmer have caught it? Yup. But he's sprinting to a spot that's probably 90+ feet away from where he started, and 10 feet away from where the catcher started.

Not the catchers ball. Those are so much easier for a first basemen and it’s not close.

I know the rule is that the pitcher should never catch a fly ball but he probably should have caught that one. Hosmer ran about 100 feet. All the pitcher have had to do is take a few steps forward to catch it.
