We had good discussion about the "Ballyhooed Bunt Attempt," that I thought I would ask about the phantom tag.

 

It is obvious that Kratz did not make the tag. However, if the Nationals challenged, wouldn't Soto still be out? He did not tag the plate and walked away, in essence, giving himself up.

I believe that is correct.....I also assume if he would have come back to tag the plate that Kratz would have tagged him but obviously I can't be sure of something that didn't happen.
