I'm always amazed at guys that toil in the minors for years without getting an opportunity. On the one hand, before 30, it has to be the best job you will ever have. At the same time, getting passed by younger guys and becoming a veteran minor leaguer that no organization is really pushing you has to be hard to take. Signing each year with a team that might offer a shot if things go badly (injuries). Add in that you can be traded in a minute and have to uproot your family...wow!

I hope Kratz gets to enjoy a nice postseason run and can make some spectacular memories by getting a key hit or a phenomenal tag out at the plate.

Great story. Couldn't imagine being rejected by so many organizations and continue to play with the confidence that you'll once see the majors. Didn't play his first MLB game until after he was 30. Easy guy to root for.
