So much for DePodesta changing everything.

well, they took another HS player with their second pick of the first round so it looks like someone has changed his mind.

What shocks me is not that they took a high school player, but that they took a high school pitcher. Maybe it's insider politics, but I wasn't expecting that.

regardless, Elbert and DeWitt are two fantastic picks for the Dodgers and are talents that just could not be passed up. Both have a big upsides and are Missouri boys, good luck to both and the Dodgers...they have my favorite draft going thus far.

It seems that DePodesta is just letting Logan do his thing. Why change what works. Melvin seems to be doing the same thing with Jake Z.

They also have some fairly high level pitching prospects in the upper minors,no big need to get a college guy that can be ready ASAP.

Time will tell on how he pans out,i think he overpaid for Bradley.Still from what i've read on him he seems not only a smart guy,but not narrow minded either. He has some bright scouts,i'd assume he's not going to just ignore them or a HS talent he likes just to fit a philosophy.

Elbert & DeWitt are relatively refined high school players. Many, including myself, projected Elbert to go 10th overall to the Rangers, another team that stereotypically values performance over projection.

I agree with nikip, the Dodgers have had a great draft. They almost always do.
