A 3 games to 1 series win over a good Cards team would be a fantastic way to open the season. Looking forward to Corbin's first start very much!

A bit of a schedule quirk that over half of the season series versus the Cardinals will be complete by April 24th this year (10 of 19 games).

It’d sure be nice to win 7-8 of those.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Glad to see Perez in at SS today. Excited to see how Burnes looks in his first big league start! Hopefully he can get a quick 1-2-3 first inning to help him settle in and get rid of the first inning butterflies.

7 would be amazing. I would be happy with 6.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

The getaway day lineup from last years opening series in SD:

Thames

Yelich

Cain

Shaw

Santana

Sogard

Villar

Bandy

Suter

Sure don’t miss Thames leading off. The depth of our 6-8 in the lineup this year is crazy.

Really excited to see Burnes' start today. I truly believe that he and Woodruff are going to establish themselves as legit #1-2-type starters, and while there will be some ups and downs, I think we're going to look back on this season as the start of something very good. I am optimistic for Peralta as well, but I think it may take him longer.

Burnes is going to be the ace we’ve wanted for a long long time. He is legit.

Woodruff ain't far behind if at all. A long way to go but perhaps the best one two punch ever developed internally for this organization with regard to starting pitching.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave
