Random thought, can we deny the DH when offered in an AL matchup and instead just have someone ready to run for him once the pitcher puts the ball in play?

Actually, the DH can be used for any position. So... DH for Arcia?

Jeez - Jesus smoked that ball

I'm not able to watch. I saw it was a double play, but did he actually hit it hard...or no?

He did - if it wasn't right at the SS it would've been a single

But what if it was right at the 3B, 2B, 1B, or P?

Jeffress hitting 93 with nasty movement. Positive first step.

Looks like first 65 innings of last year jeffress to me. Wasn’t expecting that much movement on FB.

Maybe in little league or high school, but not in the bigs.

No it can't. Rule 5.11(a)(1)

A hitter may be designated to bat for the starting pitcher and all subsequent pitchers in any game without otherwise affecting the status of the pitcher(s) in the game

Lots of positives to take from this game:

Burnes > throw all 5 pitches or learn to throw em in AAA.

Wilkerson > potential big league starter, multi inning pen arm, trade candidate.

Jeffress > looks like a high leverage pen arm to me.

2 out of 3

That’s how this division will be won. Just like a season ago. Good series win.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

A Burnes option and Wilkerson start Monday seems agreeable. Only question is if Houser is coming up Saturday or if Anderson is getting the ball.
