Great win when JD didnt have it. I hope he thanks his teammates and the bigs in the post game presser for picking him up after he called those guys out (rightfully so) after the game @OSU.

 

If Wahl makes his 3s, he turns from a solid defensive glue guy who can score a little in the post to an ALL-B1G type player. He obviously showed that potential tonight.

 

Bad Brad with a quintessential Bad Brad night as well. Drawing that 5th foul against EJ was masterful....and left me shaking my head. As the cliche goes, glad he's on our team.

Johnny Davis did not have a good night but he was absolutely beaten up by OSU. I was at the game and I was amazed at some of the fouls that didn't get called when he was making cuts or even when he was handling the ball. Give OSU credit. The refs were not calling it (at least early) so they knew they could get away with it and I think it wore Johnny down. The impressive thing is Johnny was still playing the tough D and was still rebounding well.

Crazy to think about, but UW, as of today, has a darn good case to be a one seed. Seriously. Show me four better resumes.

 

Do I think they're that good? No. I am nervous about them losing to anywhere up to a 13 seed. Computers think they're the lower part of the top 20, and I think that feels right. But wow. Most Q1 wins in the country.

 

Reminds me of the team with Alando Tucker that got a 2-seed and lost to UNLV and Lon Krueger in the Round of 32. Hope this team has better tourney luck. If they get contributions from guys other than Davis, they'll have a good shot.

To me it's always been more about matchups than the seed number. And in a year with a Milwaukee regional one would happily get bumped down a seed in exchange for getting those pseudo-home games at Fiserv.

Northwestern tonight tips as a Q1 game. A Badger win might knock it back to Q2, but I think it'll be a close one. Cats are playing pretty well right now. I'd still take UW -2, but they're just slight favorites for a reason.

I was surprised to see that Northwestern beat Michigan State in East Lansing. Johnny is ready for another huge game.

Davis gets his nose bloodied up, comes out of the TO angry and attacks and scores, then next two possessions Davison jacks up long 3’s. Not ideal shot selection, get the pissed off scorer the ball and let him go to work.
