Fire Gard! Wait, no.

Is Johnny Davis a lottery pick?

The team isn't as good as this win.

Johnny Davis is as good or better than this win.

There will be a few bad losses in the next couple months; mainly when Johnny just doesn't have it.

If he is feeling good though, they can and will beat anybody.

What. A. Game. So tough. Davison made a big three when it mattered. Got some breaks on Purdue misses.

I didn't think Davis was a lottery just because that position is loaded, but man oh man. He sure looks like the real thing. I am more and more thinking he will go. But it'll be a fun few months!

The whole game, I was expecting Purdue to put the Badgers away once the bigs got into foul trouble….and they tried, but Davis, Davison, and Hepburn kept fighting back and rallying to keep them in it. Then Johnny took over, and made great decisions late to kill the clock and cut short the chances for a Purdue comeback.

I love this year’s team.

Purdue’s bigs remind me of thick, built versions of Alton Liston and Randy Breuer.

They really use their elbows a ton. They are going to break some noses at some point.

A friend of mine is a big Purdue fan. I complained to him about the flying elbows...He admited they should've called a few more offensive fouls.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Should be interesting to see how the Badgers play long term now that the games are going to be much more consistently competitive (no more non conference cupcakes).

Johnny Davis shows up, Davidson is usually showing up, but the rest of the guys can really disappear quick in tougher games. Could be a really good squad if another guy or two can start making more consistent impacts in the game.

Depth is overrated in the NCAA (and can even be a disadvantage...see Memphis, who plays better when fewer guys get minutes), but I do like that the Badgers have a lot of guys that can play tough for a few possessions. Bowman had a couple of nice defensive possessions last night, and Jacoby Neath was at least occasionally giving Purdue something to think about.

Those guys shouldn't be getting a lot of minutes in the NCAA tourney, but they'll be useful over a long, grinding, probably COVID-impacted conference season.

Others are right on. It's the Davis and Davison show as far as scoring the basketball goes. I've really been impressed with Chuckie Hepburn and Tyler Wahl, though, as well as Chris Vogt. If those guys develop a bit more on the offensive end (especially Chuckie), that will really help in games where teams just dare someone other than Davis to beat them.

I do think that's the trick to beating Wisconsin. Make them make open 3s.

Twice the refs went and talked to Williams when they should have been tagging him with a foul after he assaulted the box out.

Here is one of them, not sure how this wasn’t reviewed by the refs.

I've seen that make the rounds....but I don't think there is much there. Williams never really swung his elbows that violently, he just made an aggressive box out with his hips which hit Vogt in a goofy way and made him bend over at the waist awkwardly... There was a ton of contact, but it was all hips and lower body on the box out which is really hard to gauge how much power/contact is too much....

It was enough contact that the ref comes running in to have words with Williams and it was definitely more than just hips/lower body - Williams cocks his arm and launches into Vogt. It definitely wasn’t a typical box out on a FT and that much contact is easily a foul if the ball was live.

If it was reviewed, I don’t think they call it a flagrant foul since it wasn’t up high but it doesn’t belong on a basketball court.

Agreed. Throwing your body into someone is one thing. Throwing an elbow (with a wind-up no less) is terrible. Purdue must coach that because both of their bigs have flying elbows.

I saw this live, but missed the push with his left hand after Vogt was already off balance, which made him tumble forward into the other Purdue player (who oddly flipped out on Vogt for it).

I found it odd that the announcers talked about how physical WI was on D (and another team that gave Purdue fits), but it was Purdue's bigs that were crazy physical. I still have no idea how Vogt's last foul was on him.

Watching MN vs IL last night was similar with Cockburn. Those three guys (Edey/Williams/Cockburn) will probably go high in the draft, but will get their clocks cleaned in the NBA if they try garbage like that.

I’m kind of hoping for a classic Frantrum tonight. One more call like that Davison foul could be all it takes. I had seats a few rows behind the Iowa bench when he blew his stack in 2014 and it was glorious.

Just when I though Davison grew up and became a respectable player…whoops, guess not.

The refs suck though. Between that Davison call and the near half counter they said hit the rim…5 point swing.

Did you catch when a mccaffrey horse collared him and threw him down earlier. Then yelled at the ref, slapped the ball out of davisons hands. And all Davison did was pick the ball up again and walk away. Bohannan clocked Davis in the back of the head in the 2H as well out of frustration. People are looking for stuff on Davison and over doing it, guys get legs tangled up once in a while, it happens all the time but davison has the eye balls on him. He really hasn't done squat in a long time now.

I’ve watched the whole game and honestly have no clue what your talking about? I haven’t seen anything close to being disrespectful. Are you saying his leg coming out on a 3 means he’s not a respectable player, or did I completely miss something?
