Jakson Reetz comes through yet again, with his 2-out single to center field scoring Valerio. The Shuckers have a 4-3 lead in the top of the 9th inning!

He’s been unbelievably good at the plate this year. It’s hard to fathom his early season.

The Shuckers' Jakson Reetz has his 10th(!) home run of 2022 on the first pitch he sees in the 6th inning. It's 1-1 in Pearl, Mississippi.

SIXTH HR in 7 games. Unbelievable!

Madness in Zebulon.  Chourio reaches on a throwing error by the new pitcher to load the bases.

Enter Hendry Mendez, who crushes the first pitch he sees over the wall in left field for a WALK OFF GRAND SLAM.  The Mudcats have done it, scoring 6 runs in the 9th inning to win 8-6.  All the damage came with 2 outs!!!!!!!!!

WOW. Talk about a Walk Off! First pitch?!? That’s a serious mic drop moment!

What an ending to that one.  Carolina was down 6-2 with 2 outs and nobody on base in the bottom of the 9th inning, with Jheremy Vargas in a 1-2 count.  Vargas eventually worked the count full and punched a single to opposite field to start the rally.  Five batters later, Hendry Mendez ends the affair by blasting a pitch the other way, up and outta here for an 8-6 win!

RHP Zach Vennaro has closed out the come-from-behind victory for Biloxi with a 3-up, 3-down 9th inning to steal this one 4-3.  This night has very nicely turned on its head, as Carolina and Biloxi both come back to grab unlikely wins.

Well, @damuellegot it in first but I’m sticking with my tip to Chirinos!?

Vennaro holds the 4-3 lead and the Shuckers get the much needed win. A tip of the cap to Harold Chirinos for his 2 innings of flawless bullpen work. He’s had an incredible season out of the pen. Truly.

I see the Sounds tagged aging Mike Minor for 9 hits in four some innings. Meanwhile, Jason Alexander with another stellar outing. He’s been fantastic for the Sounds. Another free agent signing proving incredibly impactful in Nashville.

I mentioned Miguel Sanchez in my report last night. He ‘scuffled’ with control for a brief spell in Jacksonville. Well, how’s this for a rebound:

High-A Wisconsin has lost 2 in a row and would fall into a tie with South Bend if they lose today's game at home. The team welcomes LHP Russell Smith (4.95 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, 9.9 K/9 in 20 innings) back after a 13-day absence. 22-year old 2021 7th round pick OF Tristan Peters has been a remarkably consistent offensive threat (.296 AVG / .376 OBP / .500 SLG in 125 plate appearances):

Is Peters a legitimate prospect now?

He’s had an incredible season to date. Consistency is the word. Rarely makes a mistake in the outfield. Lefty bat. Great attitude. As a manager you love him in your line-up.
