You mean Coors Field is still standing? I thought it would've burned to the ground last night after the bullpen brought their gas cans and blue tips out to the mound.

Went to bed last night thinking the Brewers were going to win their 2nd in a row and have a chance at a series sweep and momentum moving forward.  Woke up to an implosion by the bullpen.

I would have thought that this team has exhausted ways to grasp defeat from the jaws of victory, but they keep on coming up with new and improved ways to suck.

The good news is at some point they will screw up screwing up so they will win.

I have come to the conclusion that I kinda hate this team. They are just no fun to watch. Even when they are playing well, they kind of lack personality. And when they are bad, OMG are they excruciating to watch!

That said, at this point I almost expect them to go on some sort of run where they reel off wins in something like 12 of the next 15 games to put them squarely back in the playoff hunt. Because that would be just my luck, having to watch something I've grown to kinda hate into October.

I too thought that one was in the bag. With the bullpen, stupid me. Another starter pulled pretty early I see. Glad CC is keeping all of our starters, except Burnes, fresh for the playoffs.

Keston playing 2B and against a LHP. I said a while back I wouldn't say this again, but I've got to....CC needs to be gone from this  team!

Interesting thing is Freeland is a reverse splits guy himself, horrible against lefties this year. Could have made a case for playing Peterson/Rowdy.

In general Freeland has been real bad at home this year.

Wong is hurt (again). Urias is playing 3B today. Options are pretty limited. Not sure what's taking Brosseau so long to come back.

Frankly, once again, this is a case of having a right-handed batter who sucks against lefties limit what this team can do.

I went to bed with the Brewers up… 4? 5? runs. The look on my face at this morning’s box score.

Yikes. This team.

It cant end soon enough. Roster really really needs overhauled in a big way.

I am afraid with the Yelich deal it may not be possible. But gotta try.

Not necessarily saying CC should be fired, maybe move him to the front office. But not even sure about that, depending on his role there.

He has not been good this year. But he's not going anywhere. The guy has as much job security as any manager in MLB. He could perhaps maybe even be the top of the heap in that regard.

In many past years, after a game like last night I would have had trouble falling asleep. This year, I just cuss quietly to myself, shake it off, and move on.

I am just not able to get too excited about this “race” because the best thing the Brewers can accomplish is to get into a 3 game wild card series on the road against a clearly superior opponent. I don’t think I could get excited unless and until the Brewers would get past the wild card round and get into a division series that would include a home game. The chances of that happening seem pretty slim at this point for a team that can’t string wins together and is clearly outclassed by at least 4 of the NL teams that will be in the playoffs.

Maybe younger fans who are used to wild card teams and the ongoing expansion of the playoffs can be excited about grabbing one of the last spots. But many of us who spent several decades where only 2, and then 4, teams made the postseason see things differently. Because of expansion to 30 teams I could accept the 8 team playoff format. But adding more teams to the playoffs might keep fans of more teams “interested” in watching games in September, but it might not get fans of the marginal teams “excited”.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Top of the heap? You can't be serious.

That isn't what I asked about.

Then I guess I'm confused on what you asked about. I literally was saying he's at the top of the MLB heap regarding job security. I was not saying that he's at the top of the heap as far as managers go. Especially not this year.

This is what I'm expected too. They are playing so eh for months, watch this will be the Brewers team that gets hot a week or two before the Playoffs start and wins it all :)

Sorry, guess I misread.

Freeland is picking up where he left off in his previous outing against the Brewers.
