Ads resizing screen on mobile

@Brock Beauchamp I'm scrolling on mobile and is there a way to prevent the ads from resizing my screen?  I'll start reading a post and the screen will randomly go into what seems like desktop view, where the edges of the post go past the edges of the screen.   I have to zoom out to bring the whole post back into focus.  Then it will revert back, sometimes while reading the same post, if it's long enough, or while continuing on in the thread and throw me somewhere else within the thread and I have to try to find where I was again.

Argh, this is happening again? What device are you using when this happens?

I implemented a “fix” but it’s a half measure. I didn’t want to go a more drastic route unless necessary, as it invites a couple of other annoying problems with it.

The change might take a little while to propagate on your mobile devices. If people are still seeing this on Saturday, please let me know and I will attempt a different approach.

Yup happens for me on mobile too (not always, but sometimes) and when it does do that, the battery plummets so I say heck with it and close the browser.

Okay thanks, I just saw it again as well. I'm only seeing it in forum threads. It never happens on the forum index or any of the article pages. Is this consistent with what everyone else is seeing?

Is this still happening? If it happens to anyone here, please screenshot the ad that's pushing content so wide. I'm going back and forth with the ad provider but not making much headway and I haven't seen this to take a screenie in a couple of days now.

What I get more than the resizing is just a whole lot of jumping around as the ads and embedded tweets in the thread load, it’ll jump all over kingdom come. I’ll try to scroll to what I’d been trying to read and don’t get through a post without it jumping way upthread several times. At times threads become nearly impossible to read on mobile for me.

What model of device and browser are you using? This has happened in the past but I thought I had it squashed, will reach out to the ad provider again.

It’s an iPhone 7 in safari browser. Usually I use the laptop for my bf.net time and it’s not an issue on there.
