Counsell has broken Adames by keeping him in the lineup in the cleanup spot no less. A guy needs a mental health day every once in a while.

He needs to be non tendered after the season. No reason to pay 10 million or so for no offense at short when we have Turang to give us no production for the minimum.

He dreaded four run lead. Now the pirates will try and get to the finish line using a bottom of the roster reliever and the Brewers will scratch out a couple of runs forcing them to bring in their closee anyway.

You can't give up a run here so why not Payamps just in case?

Because you can't just use him every day. Brewers (By necessity) are in close/low scoring games a lot, which makes the appearances of Payamps and Williams and Milner super valuable.

I know it's become kind of a joke around here, but get Hiura up here and give him another chancealready!!! We make every mediocre pitcher look Christy Mathewson.(who was better than Cy Young, I think.)

Analytics Schmanalytics. Some guys have GUTS when it matters; others do not. Getting tired of mathematical answers to mental problems.

They might be part of the problem but they're certainly not the whole.

They've been at it for two years. At some point, you've got to say, this ain't cutting it.

There is no excuse for Hiura not being the veryday DH for this team.

What a terrible decision to use this rag arm … DFA … he should never have been added to the 26-man roster - 40-man for that matter

This one is over - another great start by an all-star pitcher wasted

Unwatchable & infuriating

Hope the Packers are competitive - I’m ready to try a new sport

That would be fine by me as long as they also took a hard look at everything from the top down.

Well then give Uribe two innings. You can't let the 7th reliever get you a guaranteed L.

Have to save the top relievers for games that can be won.

We can’t get swept at home by the A’s, lose a series to the Nats, split with the Pirates at home … & expect o make the playoffs OR accomplish anything in the postseason IF we sneak in somehow

Next up, the unbeatable Rockies.

As this era of Brewers baseball comes to a close there needs to be a study done on the use of resources and the swindled assets of pitching and no hitting. I believe it was an organization failure of epic levels.

Uribe pitched 2 innings Friday, so he's not pitching 2 innings today.

I"m not arguing that Mejia shouldn't be in there in a close game, but bullpen management when you have a team that doesn't score runs has to be hard. Super hard. You literally have to pick your poison, and I'm sure at this point, Counsell knew this game was a punt, more or less.

Its sad that we have to punt a game late down only two runs but it was probably the right decision knowing how inept our offense is.

On the granular level, I can’t be too upset with this.  If this result holds, the Crew would still be 7-3 in 10 games against the Pirates.  That is about as good as you can ask for, even against a terrible team.

Of course, the thing that drives you nuts is the overall context of an offense that has been moribund for weeks.  The commentary about Canha and Santana being good eyes at the plate and good on base guys—and then going and striking out and not getting on base—while Adames continues his walking nightmare at the plate is just a tough watch right now.  I don’t think the offense is as bad as they look recently, but then again, it’s getting late, and I remember thinking similar things the last two years.  Might not be a bad time to just check box scores for a while and come back if/when they start heating up.
