That isn't what he, or the rest of us think.  If that is what you are getting you either won't or can't comprehend what is being said.

I simply asked how do we win a world series with Burnes and Woodruff and basically got it can't be done so that's all I needed. Night all.

Your still here Ethan Small? Lol

The ONLY person still bringing up Ethan Small...

For context though(and I'm sure you'll come away from this claiming I've anointed Small the next Koufax)...who was the biggest Ethan Small comp?

Rich Hill

So sure...MAYBE Small is one of those pitchers that helps us. He's not one anyone BUT you has mentioned, but to assuage your obsession...

Really? I thought you asked how we can win a WS in the future. I don't believe you limited it to Burnes and Woodruff as YOU'RE the one who's written this team off and already declared them done after one series in the post-season.

I shouldn't say you're the "only one," I don't think anyone else has. Jopal may be in the chat. I've finally utilized the ignore user feature when people just continue to conflate arguments or create these nonsensical strawman arguments to make their points(which is probably the way to go here, but you're the wall I'm currently banging my head into for whatever reason).

LOL, That is definitely not all you "simply" asked. The issue is you think the window closes with Burnes and Woodfuff.  I don't think that is is the case.

And I actually think it'll open wider...

I used to think that this window is closing. Not anymore. Even if we lose Burnes/Woodruff in the next two seasons, we still have Peralta. Ashby could be the next big thing. A few young SP prospects are there too. The cupboard is not bare with SP.
And the young hitters at OF are numerous and highly touted. We also have a big catching prospect.

Also, I think there’s a decent possibility they still extend Woodruff.

You have purposely misinterpreted folks' posts.

HOF game thread.

I understand that instead of commenting during game threads you seem to prefer perusing them after the fact and making comments about things people say in frustration during the game.

I just looked at this one again and, to be accurate, more than half of this thread has virtually nothing to do with last night’s game. The game ended on page 5 of 12.

Most of the post game comments were more relevant to a discussion (fueled by one poster in particular) about the prospects for the Brewers to win a World Series either this year or anytime in the foreseeable future. Those prospects weren’t affected one way or another by that one game.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I clearly did. You joined an argument you didn't understand.

Based on what? You haven't been close with them. Lol. How does it get wider with less quality starting pitchers? Explain that.

Win tomorrow, and we’ll be right back where we were before the Braves series aka the series from hell.

That’s not entirely true unless the only relevant measure of position is games above or below .500.

The Brewers are 7-8 in the last 15 games that started with that Braves series but their position in the division and wild card races has changed in a couple of pretty significant ways.

While their lead in the division has grown from half a game over the Reds to 2.5 games over the Cubs (who were 6 back) they are now in a 3 team race that includes a Cubs team that has won 16 of its last 21 and has picked up another good bat to add to an already strong lineup.

In the overall NL race they have lost considerable ground to the Dodgers and Phillies, who have gone 11-4 and 11-5 in this period. They have also picked up ground on the stumbling  DBacks and Reds. The already slim hopes of getting a first round bye are pretty much gone.

A win today would at least salvage an 8-5 record in this stretch of 13 games against terrible teams where there was an opportunity to pick up more ground. The next 3 weeks against nothing but playoff contenders figures to be more challenging, and the Brewers are going to have to play better than they have the last two weeks to maintain their position.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Game threads shouldn't be a place where all reason and intelligence goes to die.

Thanks for using 3 paragraphs to say what I said in 3 words.

Yet here we are.

I read a late-2018 game thread the other day because I was watching the game on DVR.

Incredible how this site used to be and how it's become.

I'll likely get banned eventually and I won't really care.  Which is sad.

The "good" news is that once the team is actually bad, the main offenders will be gone. I know I could put a lot of these guys on ignore but I shouldn't have to.

I thought you weren’t too keen on telling other fans how they should be fans?

I doubt you’ll go off the rails to earn a ban.

Fading away until the Brewers are bad again and we go back to talking about Cheese sammiches?  Maybe…

Ridiculous other way around.

I think you need to look in the mirror.  You’ve definitely, and repeatedly, misrepresent and misstated others positions.

YOU were the one who was ignoring responses to YOUR questions.  YOU were the one who was moving the goal posts.  Just own it.

I wasn’t telling him how he should be a fan, I was just noting how he deals with game threads.

I think it’s posters who tell others things like “you should  find another hobby” that are telling them how to be fans.
