Wow. After Wiemer successfully challenges an 0-2 off-speed pitch an inch outside the zone, he gets a broken bat flubber to the 3B side and there is no play. Bases juiced for Isaac Collins. He lines a dart that one-hops to the SS who beats Wiemer to the bag. That's twice tonight Wiemer has had a chance to slide into 2B and made no effort - he let up short of the bag both attempts. I'm not saying he would be safe or those were the right calls in the situations I am simply sharing he let up. On to the bottom of the 11th. 4-3 Sounds lead.

Wilken adds a flailing swinging K in the 8th inning on a slider nowhere near the zone. Let's add that to his two error ledger. Ugly evening for Wilken.

Blackwood does it! He strands the runner on 3B. He got the lead-off swinging K to start the frame. He got a ground out to 2B to advance the runner. He got the fly out to Hicklen in LF to end the threat. 

Exhale.

The Sounds win it 4-3! Glorious. Lotta resolve to overcome their issues in this one.

A couple nightmare relief outings from LHP Nate Peterson and now RHP Sam Carlson sees the Shuckers trailing 8-0. Peterson walked in 3 runs. Carlson gave up a run on a WP and now a two out 3-run 96 mph jack over the LF wall.

It's gotten so bad at this juncture that they are going to bring Zavi Warren to the hill. Let's see his Ace stuff, baby!

Warren steps to the hill and rips a 40 mph sinking ball off the outside portion of the plate. Ugly pitch. Second pitch, 41 mph bounces on the plate. Come on Zavi! Next pitch low. 3-0. LOL. He revs it up a bit and throws a 60 mph dart on the upper corner. On the next pitch he hangs a 58 mph 'heater' and it is ripped for a single to CF.

He gets the fly out to right CF to end the threat. 8-0 Shuckers trail and head to their part of the 9th.

Nice to see that Joel Kuhnel accepted the assignment to AAA Nashville, following in Mitch White’s footsteps. Elieser Hernandez doesn’t know what he’s missing.
