DiTuri hits the slow roller up the 1B line. Tying run scores. Go-ahead run advances to scoring position at 2B. Weakly hit but a strategic swinging 'bunt' up the 1B line. Baez comes to the dish and proceeds to take a massive hack at a pitch in the dirt. My guy!😅

Bitonti sees DiTuri's 'nubbler' and improbably hits a slower RBI hit about six feet up the first base line. Mudcats lead 3-2. Adamczewski hits an oppo liner well but directly to the LF'er. Tough luck. Nice swing.

Yes, that's RHP Joel Kuhnel facing his old team in the Sounds for the 7th inning. For a guy sent up-and-down all season long. Picked up. DFA'd etc. all he does every time I see him pitch is get outs. He's doing it to the Sounds here in the 7th.

camera work in delmarva may be the worst in the carolina league.  Only one worst is Down East.

Yes. It is bad. BUT, hey, we do have visuals. That's a huge plus.

I see Yoshwar Garcia has indeed been pulled from tonight's game after that awkward dive back into 2B earlier. Reidy Mercado was the replacement. Nice to see him come through!

Man Kuhnel got jobbed when his CF'er completely lost and misplayed a deep fly to CF. Looked like a misjudged easy out. Ended up a Clarke triple and that was Kuhnel's last batter. He then scored on a wild throw from 3B to 1B off the bat of Owen Miller. Miller has now advanced to 3B on two WP's. Nava at 1B after the walk. Two down. Men on the corners for Cargo. 5-5 game. Top of the 7th.

Cargo rips a dart right to the 1B. My goodness. That ball was ripped. Chest high liner. Man, I have seen some absolute darts right to the opponents between the Shuckers last night and that rocket by Cargo. Tough luck. 5-5 game. To the bottom of the 7th.

Durow is not accurate early here in the bottom of the sixth. He just gave up a five pitch walk. Garcia throws a low ball to 2B as Cuevas takes 2B. Charged a throwing error. Josh could have made a better play there as well - he'll surely want that back. He short armed the scoop as opposed to charging that throw or getting down for it. Runner advances to 3B. Nobody out. Going to be tough to get out of here with a 3-2 lead. 2-2 count. Throws high. 3-2 count. Foul down the 3B line. Walks him high and outside on a breaking ball. Like I said: Durow is not accurate early. Runners on the corners. Nobody out.

Another stolen base. Garcia really hasn't been throwing the ball all that well tonight tho he does have a CS earlier. DP ball out of the picture now. Durow gets his first out on a nice slider. A swinging K. One down. Men on 2nd and 3rd.

SIngle up the middle on the first pitch to the next batter. Throw home keeps runner at 3B. Hitter then advances to 2B. 2nd and 3rd. 3-3 game. One down. Durow has some real work to do here to escape tied.

Durow falls behind again. 3-1 count. Hitters count. Strike 2 on an outside slider fouled into the mitt. 28th pitch upcoming. He gets the K on the outer black. Whewwww. Lotta work to preserve that tie. 3-3 game we head to the top of the 7th.

Sounds are trying to make some two out noise here in the top of the 8th. Collins walked. Capra just ripped a double down the 3B line. Ball didn't travel to the corner, however, it gave the Bulls a favorable bound right to the LF'er. Runners at 2B and 3B. Clarke to the dish quickly in an 0-2 count.

Clarke goes down swinging again. 2-2 off-speed on the upper part of the zone. He is not seeing that pitch well at all tonight- second time he's missed a comparable pitch. Opportunity squandered.

Briceno walked. DiTuri snuck a liner down the RF line. Runners on the corners. Baez in a 1-2 count. Takes high. 2-2 count. Hits a super weak chopper up the 3B line and the catcher inexplicably lets it roll to come to a stop on the line. All he had to do was scoop it up and tag the runner coming down the line out. Instead, the Mudcats take the lead 4-3. That ball traveled 10 feet down the line. He had Briceno dead to rights.

Sounds raising the white flag in a tie game?

Ashby in……

And Baez gives the Mudcats the lead.

edit : Baez a bleeder for a run .  Then an error and Bitonti is on for Adamczewski

Ashby has actually been very good of late in short stints. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt. He gets the K swinging for the second out on a nasty inside slider that dipped a good foot before the plate.

Gets a sword on his first pitch to the next batter. The slider is filthy.

AND Adamczewski hits a huge 1-2 oppo single through the 3B/SS gap. It's a 5-3 game. Well hit poke!

Yup. Ashby strikes out batter 1. Batter 2 is extremely uncomfortable. Gets the K swinging on another filthy slider that dipped and bounced on the plate. Those hitters had zero chance. Completely outclassed. LOVE IT!

Guilarte K's swinging on an inside change up. Walling pop flies to shallow CF. No more runs cross. BUT, the Muddies take the lead 5-3 as they head to the bottom of the 7th.

Ok. Ashby did a great job.  Maybe short stint relief is his future?

I was wondering about that earlier in the season when he was struggling so much - find out what he does best (slider) and build around it.

Gularte Ks and Walling apparently made out - my video cut out  but Mudcats up 5-3

Had a really nice curve thrown in that 2/3 IP as well. Sinker was in and around the zone. Honestly, he looked filthy. Those batters were outclassed. NOW, can he replicate that in his ensuing work - assuming he comes aboard for the bottom of the ninth.
