I'm going to steal most of @Ro Mueller's thunder from last year and copy and paste his worthy intro post while adding some of this season's context to the mix.

Now an annual tradition, the Brewers will once again be sending several minor league prospects Down Under to play for the Brisbane Bandits, whose season will run from November 14th to January 19th (plus playoffs, if applicable).

We can use this thread for all things Aussie Baseball-related.

Why am I posting this now? Well, the Bandits just announced their first Royals prospect heading 'Down Undah':

I can only imagine once these Royals are announced this week the Brewers will be announced shortly thereafter. Remember, last year we saw really solid seasons from all three of 1B Tayden Hall, RHP Sam Gardner and LHP Brian Fitzpatrick. If we recall, oh so fondly, Mr. Gardner was lights out winning the Aussie League 'Relief Pitcher of the Year' for his incredible work.

We are more than a week removed from the first Royals player announcements on the Bandits. I am beginning to wonder if Dave Nilsson's amended role with the Bandits as of this past off-season hasn't also changed the Brewers involvement down yonder? We'll have to stay tuned but as of now no Brewers news in the Australia Baseball League as of yet.

With this recent announcement and development:

I am leaning 80/20 the Brewers are not sending players to Australia this winter. It certainly seems the proverbial writing is on the wall. I wonder if we'll hear anything from the parent club if this is indeed the case.

Baseball America noted that the Tampa Bay Rays assigned four players to the Australian League. We’ll see if the Brewers try to work their way back a year from now.

It looks like in addition to the Rays we see at least one player from the Reds, Braves, Athletics, Pirates, Phillies (who sent 8 players), Twins, Royals, Astros, White Sox, Cubs, Tigers, and Angels were sent across the pond. So, 13 MLB clubs are represented over yonder.
