Some real impressive work from Peralta. At the same time, some ammunition for the "He's no ace" crowd. I loved him wanting--badly--to go out for the 7th. Then he goes out there & promptly walks Fraley. And in the 5th, it didn't cost him runs but w/the runner on 1st & 2 down he walks Lux, with De La Cruz on deck. You. Can't. Do that. But like I said, mostly impressive.

Durbin at least in part caused that bad throw in the 9th with his hustle. Goes hitless but still reaches base twice. That's the type of player he is. There's value there.

Would like to see a full day off tomorrow for Contreras.

The issue with Murphy is there is no real plan. Guys are cruising and yanked. Guys clearly laboring back out for more. He's had a horrible year on pitching side imo.

Too lazy to look back, but I think Peralta is the one guy he's extended a little--maybe Quintana once. The roll of the dice there was Fraley. Get him & you can face the #9 RHH, then BP for the top of the order. He walked Fraley, which might've been the biggest AB that no one is talking about.

Ashby starting the inning certainly was another way to go.

Freddy Peralta is totally afraid to through strikes, 103 pitches 68 strikes in 6 innings, come on, no efficiency at all.  He was only 5 pitches away from a career high pitch count.  I don't think an ace should have to throw that many pitches in 6 innings, kind of insain if you really think about it, yet he does keep us in almost every single ball game.  I personally don't think he can keep doing that every single time he pitches or he will be on the IL also.  By the way today is Freddy Paralta's birthday 6/4/1996

I just saw the last out.   Damn

can rest in laurels now.   Got to get back to winning.  It took an 8 game winning streak just to get in some semblance of a wild card race.    And didn’t do much for division race
