That was actually 1980.

Ironically, after great years in 78 and 79, after that great Opening Day! Lezcano had a poor season in 1980 and never again produced the way he did those two years..

But, he was a valuable piece in the trade that landed Simmons, Vuckovich, and Fingers

After being voted as the Brew Crew’s MVP in 1979 where he won the AL’s gold glove as a right fielder and hit 0.321/0.414/0.573/0.987 with 28 HRs, 101 RBIs, and a  5.6 WAR he broke his hand in August 1980.  During the 1980 Winter Meeting he was traded to the Cardinals in the aforementioned trade for Fingers, Vuckovich and Simmons. In 1981 with a wrist and elbow injury he was never the same, except one last magical year with the Padres in 1982 (ironically) where he hit 0.289/0.388/0.472/0.860 with 16 HRs and a 5.9 WAR.

BTW the Megill comment was was a verse in the Beatles  Rocky Racoon song on their White Album.
