The DSL Brewers Blue moved back to 4 games over 0.500 with nine runs scored over the final two frames. They squeak out the 12-7 victory in style. Unfortunately, even if they win out Monday and Tuesday and the reeling DSL Astros Blue keep losing (losers of 3 straight) the Brewers Blue would miss out on that 8th and final wild Card spot by 1/2 G by my eyes.

LHP Josh Maciejewski pitched 2 innings on Thursday (0 R, 1 K in 20 pitches) and gets the start today at Durham, as AAA Nashville seeks to clinch a series win. DH Jeferson Quero has homered in 2 of his last 3 games.

RHP Brett Wichrowski has struggled in his last few outings (15 IP, 12 R, 12 Ks), so aims to turn it around and lead AA Biloxi to a 3-2 home series lead over Columbus. DH Blake Burke has homered in 3 games during his 6-game hitting streak.

22-year old RHP Ryan Birchard (4.21 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, 10.7 K/9 in 83.1 IP) gets a home start as High-A Wisconsin shoots for a 3-2 series lead against Great Lakes. 3B Andrew Fischer is 5-for-9 with 3 RBIs over his first 2 career games.

Quero just hit one hard to right field. Almost an inside the park homerun but the ump ruled the ball out of play for a ground rule double as it was stuck behind a screen

Quero's double drove Avans in but that was it

Bottom of the 1st and Maciejewski has run into trouble. Two singles and a walk have him with the bases loaded with no outs

3 pitch K on a couple of nice change ups on the outside but Thaiss hits a dribbler between the diving gloves of Bauers and Dunn and clears the bases. 4-1 Sounds trail with only one out

Zamora makes a nice catch on a low liner and thats 2 outs.

Hard grounder to 3B. Delgado goes to 2B and gets Maciejewski out of it. 4-1, to the second we go

Maciejewski gets 2 outs but allows Tre Morgan to reach on an uncompetitive walk (which included a time violation). Liranzo is coming in.

Rick Sweet really needed Maciejewski to give him at least 2

Elsewhere, Burke hits another absolute bomb to left field.

Lara then hits a double, advances to third on obstruction after an attempted pickoff and scores on a Wood single

In Fayettesville, the Muddies lead 1-0 early.

Ragsdale is now batting with the bases loaded and 1 out.

He gets a full count walk and drives one in

Childers gets an ugly swing on his curve for strike three and is just an out away.

He gets really lucky. Hangs a curveball right down the middle but its a weak liner to center field and he gets out of it. That could've easily been a 3-run homer. On to the 6th
