Good gracious the hacks OF Jose Anderson takes at off-speed pitches in the dirt or way away is impressive.

This is two clear strike 3's looking the homeplate ump has missed. No matter, it's Anderson. Just throw it in the dirt. He K's swinging. He has regressed of late and it is depressing.

Three balls off the outer black called a K looking on Holguin. Good luck tonight, men. Nobody knows what this zone is but the home plate fill-in ump.

A WP and Walther advances to 2B. And, Payne walks. Ragsdale will try to do some damage - he struck out looking at two very clear balls outside the zone in his first AB.

Ragsdale walked on a pitch that looked like it was an upper corner inside zone strike. But, then again, it's a 'guess the zone' evening. Bases are juiced. A new reliever comes aboard. Two down. 1-1 game.

Another beautiful dead center curve from Johnson (this time) is called a ball. He then walks the batter. This strike zone is definitely worse than last night's! LOL.

Jose Anderson gets some redemption smoking a hard hit grounder off the backhand attempt at 3B into the LF corner. He gets the friendly bounce and gets to 2B. That's his 12th double. Much needed knock. Two down. Man on 2B.

Lameda K's looking at an outside ball. He kept the AB alive by a ball called on a clear strike at the bottom of the zone.

This is something in Zebulon. Whewwwww.

Johnson had a man on 3B and two down. A ball is ripped into the RF corner. Anderson made a very valiant full on diving effort but just missed the ball. It rolls to the wall for an RBI triple. Man on 3rd. Two down. Now a 2-2 game.

Johnson gets the swinging K on a really nice off speed pitch that dove into the dirt. Check swing sword there. 2-2 and they'll head to the bottom half.

STill trying to figure out the plan with Bjorn Johnson.  Former HS pitcher with good upside and those are usually starters, and also he is going out for multi-inning appearances, several of the 3-4 inning variety. Just thinking out loud and being curious - I will watch to see how he is used and developed the next year or two.

And Mudcats get some runs back.  Holguin walks then advances to third on a wild pick off attempt.

Walther grounds to 3B, but Holguin breaks on contact, and Walther is the only play and is out.

Then Payne grounder to short but he beats it out for an infield single - close play. Ragsdale walks, and a new pitcher comes in.

Ebel greets him with a bloopish liner to left and bases are loaded.

Bitonti on a broken bat grounder to 2B drives in a run.

Then Encarnacion also with a bloopish liner to left and 2 runs in, but Handelfry is caught between 1st and 2nd and is tagged out.

But it is 6-2 Mudcats now!

A double steal worked to perfection by Delmarva. Oh no.

But it's only the one run, and there are 2 outs. And a ground out to end the inning.

A 1B Blayberg Diaz (I just can't get used to typing that - lol) double into the LF corner scores Tayden Hall (BB). It's 2-0 T-Rats in the bottom of the 2nd.

Hardin is pitching into the 2nd inning. We are so back!

Happy New Year Smiling GIF

He gets through 2 IP. Helped out with a favorable call at 2nd on the caught stealing (still nice throw by Matt Wood), and then Matt Wood backpicks the runner at first in the 2nd inning to end the inning after Hardin walked a batter. Still a solid 2 innings by Tyson, let's go young man.

Made just casually reached down and ripped an RBI single into RF. 3-0 T-Rats. He has so much innate wiggle and power in those wrists. It's wild. That was not an easy poke.

That was Hardin nabbing the runner at 1B to end the inning. He faked out to 2B and had the guy leaning. They got him.

Nevermind. LOL. Streams crossed and I was hallucinating. You were absolutely correct.
