He falls behind 3-0 to Blake Dunn, who hit the lead-off HR, and works it to 3-2. He then walks him on a high uncompetitive pitch. That's Cornielle's 2nd walk. Man on 1st.

And, Cornille then throws the pick-off away. Man on 2B. I do believe that's also consecutive outings for Cornielle with errant throws to 1B? (I could be misremembering).

Up 0-2 to the next hitter, several fouls, then two balls. 2-2 count. Wayyyyyy outside to another full count. 46th pitch is another pitch high and outside. Back-to-back walks for the 24-year-old erratic right-hander.

And, on a swinging miss on an outside slider - beautiful pitch - amidst a double steal Haase absolutely airmails the throw to 3B into LF. Yikes. 3-0 Bats. Cornielle gets the K on the next pitch swinging on an identical slider. Beautiful pitch. 3 K. 3 BB. 2 errors on the pitcher/catcher battery in this frame.

Cornille gets ahead 0-2 yet again. Two straight dipping off-speed pitches. Can't get chase on the third. Nice pitch below the zone. Why not? 1-2 count. Gets him looking with the outside heater. That's 4 K for Cornielle who is very clearly showing he can strike out Triple-A hitters.

My guy, Raynel Delgado, playing his second consecutive game at 1B has the first AB BB and now the 2nd AB oppo double ripped off the low part of the LF wall. Smoke show. I'm telling you: do not sleep on Raynel Delgado...as he is promptly caught stealing at 3B with one down 😅. Gorgeous throw from Banfield.

Lara leads off the Shuckers playoffs with a 1-2 K looking at a curve. Hopkins is pretty dang filthy. And, he looks filthy early. Sitting 95-98 mph. Dropping a cutter, change, and curve in there.

Made pops up to shallow LF in a 3-2 count. Two down. Burke swings at the first pitch for a chopper to ol' friend Jadher Areinamo at 2B. It's an easy 1-2-3 first for Hopkins.

Cornielle strands the walked batter via fly out to LF, pop up to 1B, and K swinging. On to the 5th.

Wichrowski first AB K on a beautiful hard dipping curve in the dirt. Wood easily throws to 1B for the out.

Berroa gets the one out double in the top of the 5th. Zamora grounded out to SS on the first pitch of the first AB.

Wichrowski says "Hold my beer, Hoskins!" My goodness. He K's the side and it was nasty. THIS is the Wichrowski we know is in there. Can we get it for a full outing. The 98 mph swinging K inside heater was about the filthiest heater I've seen from him all season. He touched 99.8 mph in that first frame!

Back-to-back walks for Wilken and Adams open the 2nd inning.

Meanwhile, Cornielle absolutely did his job inducing a weak high pop fly to shallow LF. Black loses it in his lights with his hands up immediately. It falls to the grass to his right. Men on the corners instead of the inning over. Sigh.

Berroa with the great jump and casual sliding grab to his glove side on a shallow bloop liner to right CF. That's the final out. Great escape.

Meanwhile, Wood pokes a grounder oppo through the left side. Bases juiced. Nobody down. Zavi Warren to the dish.

Predictably, Garcia K's swinging. Three pitches. Poor poor form from the bottom of the Shuckers order. A vintage Brewers classic: bases juiced. Nobody out. No runs.

With runners on 1st and 2nd after consecutive singles, nobody down, Blue decides to squeeze Wichrowski on a gorgeous 2-2 slider at the outer corner of the zone. He blows the called K looking. Batter walks on the next pitch. Sighs. So many sighs. Bases juiced. Nobody out.
