Left-hander Shane McClanahan makes his first big league start since August 2, 2023 after rehabbing from Tommy John surgery and a nerve issue in his left tricep. McClanahan has one career start against Milwaukee on May 19, 2023 throwing seven scoreless innings with 7 K and 1 BB. 

Brandon Woodruff makes his season debut for the Brewers. Woodruff has a 1.96 career ERA against the Rays over 18.1 innings and three starts. Woodruff's last start against Tampa was August 10, 2022.

Sure seems like it will be a struggle against lefties until Vaughn and Chourio get back.  Pretty weak lineup no matter who Murphy puts out there.

This is the biggest challenge for sure until they get the two RHH back---facing LH starters. In the meantime I   think they need to get something out of Perkins who has better splits vs LHP, and Rengifo whose splits are also slightly better. And this is the chance for Lockridge to make a statement.

Brewers cannot afford major injuries. They are paper thin. You have already seen more of Hamilton Lockridge etc than they can afford.

He does have 6ks...this is what he is at this point in his career.  He will give up bombs and some loud outs but largely limits the damage and gives his team a shot to win if they opt to hit

I love Woody a ton … one of my all-time favorite Brewers … but this version of Woody looks very “hittable”

Hopefully, he will gain strength & improve in the next few starts
