Just a little exercise to see what everyone thinks. With the potential trade of Contreras this offseason I've been wondering about catcher next year and figured to start a discussion about how each position is performing and what the big league prospects look like down the road. There is usually a lot of comments on random threads, I just thought this might be nice to organize thoughts.

C- Quero has been ok in AAA but he is striking out more than the past. I haven't heard alot about his or Dinges defense which probably isn't a good or bad sign. I was hopeful that Dinges could move fast enough that he and Quero could both make the roster for 2027 but that eis likely a pipedream at this point (midseason 2027 might be doable. Wood and Miller have been good but like Dinges probably not options as backups to start 2027 unless they get send to AAA in the near future which is plausible but then Quero loses some PT. It is a bit early to make judgements on Garcia, Corobo, or Mills but overall depth is solid. My guess is that Quero and a vet like Sanchez split catcher next year and the team hopes on of Dinges or Quero break out.

1B- Like catcher the depth is good, early it looked like Burke was laying claim to the future 1B spot. Adams has been hurt and inconsistent, while Wilken has been rough. I think this door is pretty open still for someone to take over the spot long term. I think a Burke/Adams platoon still makes some sense especially if Adams can play a smidge of 3B or OF. Maybe down the road Dinges takes up some 1B if Quero is the everyday guy and an Burke/Dinges platoon get our best bats on the field.

2B- With Turang here for at least the 2028 season this spot isn't a worry especially with Pena, Made, Pratt, Josh A, O'Rae, and Jett as option when we do eventually loses Brice.

SS/3B- With the Pratt contract this is likely settled unless Made takes of with the glove. The high end talent is there. Not much to worry about long term, just how do we fix the spots this year.

OF- With the hot starts from Lara, Payne, Josh A. and O'Rae this position went from probably the weakest in the org. to a position of strentgth. Ragsdale provides some depth but it would be nice to see a couple college bats being adding to improve the depth.

SP- This one is tricky, our young mlb depth is good but the organization depth has been hit hard to start the year. It would only take a good month to turn around how young guys are percieved, however all the top guys after Henderson have struggled. I think all of the young arms stuff has seemingly been ok but there has to be some concern with how we are developing command after the first couple months. We haven't drafted many college arms early in the draft but it would be a good year to add some arms.

RP- Similar to the starting pitching there is pretty good young depth in the majors and upper levels but the younger relief arms have struggled. That being said there are lots of options of players who are starting that will likely transition to relievers supplementing the relief arms in a year or so.
