Thoughts/positives about the game

Lyle Overbay - 1/2 with 2BB, RBI

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come in Sept. He's taking pitches and hitting the ball to the opposite field, both of which lead to success for Lyle

Carlos Lee - 1/2 HR, BB, 2 RBI

Carlos fufilled the 30/100 expectations we had for him coming into this season. Also Carlos just missed another HR which would have been a 3-run shot. Great to see him all over the ball again.

Rickie Weeks- 2/3, 2 RBI, BB

Taking the ball to the opposite field almost every AB and drawing a walk are good signs that he'll be busting out of his slump here. Also great to see him leg out a few IF singles.

JJ Hardy- 1/3, 2 RBI, BB, SF

JJ was staying hot and hit the ball hard almost every AB. Sac fly was out to the warning track.

Geoff Jenkins- 1/4, GS, 4 RBI

Apparently that back isnt hurting too bad stay hot Geoff, stay hot!

Hopefully this game is not just an aberration but a sign of things to come this September!

->Even struggling all season(except Cincy games), Lyle's taken many pitches and hit the ball other way, but he just can't find his hitting groove and his solid obp's been down a lot. I don't have a confidence if he can get hot again THIS remaining season.

-> Jenkins surprises me a lot after AS break. He's one of the hottest hitters in ML along with David Wright, Victor Martinez. All Jenkins' numbers is back in a solid level.

just got back from the game. Even though I like a little room, the crowd tonight was disappointing. They may have sold 18,000 tickets but it was more like 14,000. Not many bad things to say about the team. I was alittle bit disappointed with the crowd reaction to JDLR. He hasnt thrown in a week, of course he is not going to throw strikes.Obviously, I am a bit biased when it comes to Jorge, but I still feel he is more deserving of consistent work especially since we arent in the race for anything. Good win though. Nice to have Wise back.

The sad thing is that there are going to be 40,000+ tomorrow night and the Brewers will lay an egg. They usually play poor in front of big houses.

Big crowd has little to do with it.

The problem is - just like Tuesday and Thursday - that I'll be going to the game.

(They can't seriously pull the hat trick, can they? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif )

You said it. That place was barren. Thought it might be a little better on a Friday, but apparently everyone's going tomorrow instead.

Definitely an enjoyable game to be at. Cappy's so darn solid. He's really developed quite a fantastic change. Made people look silly all night.

Nice to see Wise get some work. I was hoping Ned was going to use this chance to do it, and indeed he did.

JDLR. Wow. I don't know about anyone else, but I was almost getting a Rick Ankiel vibe tonight, it was that brutal. He wasn't messing around either, just throwing fastball after fastball that wasn't even close. Oof. Hopefully he can get straightened out this winter..

You also have to remember, it's a holiday weekend, which lots of people go up north and high school football has a lot to do with it also.
