Wow, down 2 and you put in Eveland and then you yank him without letting him work himself out of that situation. I would have liked to see him get out of it himself.

[ Well, not to get all Moneyball here, but Billy Beane had a point when he said they aren't trying to sell jeans with these players. ]

No, but now you've totally removed that as an option.

Yankees are REALLY reaching with some of these guys they are bringing in. Leiter, Cabrera, and Chacon for starters. I know they already have a bunch spent but it is funny as all hell to watch them try these crap moves becuase they are such a mess. Dont let them fool you, a few wins here and there doesnt make them a contender. The brewers are almost with them talent wise in alot of spots for petes sake. Minus Arod and probably sheff. but we have the horse to X him out. And dont give me jeter because he is not as good as everyone wants to believe.

You know... I would love nothing more than to see the Yankees nosedive and lose 80+http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

Chalk this loss up to Blowtalico. It is time to trade him for anything to any taker....I'll take a handful of spit at this point...

What a letdown.

*sigh*

I hate to sound greedy, but when will we ever get over the hump ? We always seem stuck between 3-6 games below .500.

I was sort of hoping to pull away a little. Oh well. . . Let's get 'em tomorrow.

Guillen not getting tossed when he probably should have cost us the game.

No this is all on Ned/Botallico. It makes to sense to keep putting this joker in close games, and giving him the chance to work out of his jam. Especially when he's proven he cant do it all year.

I wish Ned would get himelf thrown out more early in the game. Then perhaps we do not have to trot out a reliever in a big time yukky funk in close games.

How can a manager put a guy in that does not know where his pitches are going withing two feet. That was sad.

Again, let me reiterate, I really think Ned needs to learn to win just like the players. If Ned had managed this game like the 7th game of the World Series, we would NOT have seen Botts.

So, now I need to put up with all the 'it is just one game, the bullpen is rested now, what do you expect from the Brewers, etc etc'. I am just sad that Ned did not manage this game like it was the most important game. But we only played one game today. We should make it the most important.

By the way, if you want to reply that I am wrong, make sure you type the words 'If I was managing the Crew today, I would have chose Bottialico to pitch after Caps in a tie game'.

So you're forgetting that Bottalico was used last night, when Ned had been thrown out?

Yeah, Bottalico has been awful lately. But I think the offense was even more pathetic. I blame this one on the lack of hitting.

I think we got some young guys in Nashville who could do what Bottalico is doing. Unfortunately, Ricky may be pitching himself out of trade interest.

It seems obvious to be like the Nationals have a lot better athletes than us. I have mentioned this before, but I think we need to get faster before we can start thinking about winning 90 games and making the playoffs. I am not ripping on anybody, it just seems like the Nats can take the extra base and can run the fly ball a lot better than us. Our people in the minors may solve that, I don't know. I just think that we have to get more athletic.

Yeah hopefully we can get the bats going tomorrow. I'm kinda thinking tomorrow will be rough though because Bill/Daron were saying Yost is going to be sitting Carlos.

Just did some research.

Games with at least 1 day of rest vs. two games in a row for Bottalico.

30G vs 8 games.

ERA 3.38 with rest, 7.05 w/o

WHIP 1.34 with rest, 2.22 w/o

The Brewers need to understand that he is 35? If you use him, he cannot be used the next day except in emergency. If he is, don't blame him.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I was thinking that the Brewers really need to win tomorrow to keep making forward strides. Every time they seem like they are getting there they lose 5 of 7 or something to knock themselves down.

Quick, Ricky. We have an emergency! We need someone to go in there and hang a breaking ball!

I meant, of course, bullpen catcher, shagging flies during BP, etc.

I just came in, but why do they put in Bottalico? He is getting awful. It's a guaranteed 2 runs everytime he comes in.

Jakesdadio called it at 6PM. This guy is really killing us. Phelps is gone, now it's Bottaliturd's turn

Jet,

The last 6 games Bottalico has pitched with rest, he has given up 1 run total. The last three with no rest, 6 runs. He is decent if used right. Ned needs to be disciplined in the way he is used. We have all these guys like JDLR who never pitch. Why? Santana is probably overused also but I haven't broken down his numbers.
