Nice to see Ben Grieve take a nice swing and get a single out of it. Isn't that his first hit after the injury that's been bothering him?

Runners at the corners and Magruder PH for Obie. Is he that much of an upgrade to use a player off the bench this early? Why not let Obie hit then replace him?

ETA: And the second I hit "Post" Magruder drives in the run.

Wes Obermueller's OPS - 769

Chris Magruder's OPS - 740

I'm just saying.

Nice job by Travis Phelps rebounding from the poor outing in his debut. Now let's get some more runs... 'cause that's what offenses do! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

I'm coming up with .851 OPS for Wes (.370 OBP + ..481 SLG).

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

I went to write a post on minor league board when we had guys 1st and 3rd 1 out. I checked back to see if somehow scored a run... and we scored FIVE. Wow.

Obermeuller shows me he is just not there yet. Next year at Indy as a late developing starter will be good for him and Indy.

I like that Branyan seems to be able to recognise strikes and balls (unlike Jenkins). Russ Ks swinging at strikes and he walks NOT swinging at balls... and every once in a while, when he connects... wow. He is a good ball player. The best quote I heard re Russ was from a manager of another team I think. He said if Russ got 500 at bats every year, he would hit 50 home runs each year. Heck, I really hope we have Russ around for a couple of years at least. He is only 28 now, and seems he has been around forever. I would be interested if anyone studies how high K sluggers 'age'. Mabye they are good until 35?

Encouraging to see Ben Grieve absolutely kill two of the pitches just thrown to him by Amaury Telemaco. Too bad they were foul.

He came into the game batting .346/.423 ... I didn't account for his double.

Well, he has been playing (at least in the minors) for 10 years now, I think. And has been in and out of majors since '98.

Geoff Jenkins is an idiot! He runs off Podsednik on the flyout and then makes a WILD throw to Bennett at homeplate. Granted, a run didn't score but Jenkins hould have let Scott take it.
