U of Miami Leaving the Orange Bowl

I wonder if this means they'll move the Orange Bowl BCS game to Joe Robbie Stadium? I personally think this is a very bad move, as tradition in college football means everything. I can't imagine the Badgers moving out of Camp Randall (not like thats an issue with all the renovations anyways).

I know UM mentioned that it wasn't fair for the city to pay $200M to refurb a stadium for a Private University, though I figure that BCS game must bring tens of millions in revenue to the area annually. Plus, with their alumni base, it shouldn't be hard to raise the funds privately.

I've heard the Orange Bowl isn't in the best shape, and that it's in a not-so-good part of town. I'm sure it is easier for the U to just move instead of going through the hoops to get some funds to update and fix the Orange Bowl.

Ah.... well then that makes sense... I'm just imaging the outcry if some NFL team build a new stadium in LA and they decided to move the Rose Bowl to the new stadium.... I wonder what the "new corporate name" will be for Joe Robbie Stadium...

Back in 1994 I had a chat with a Nebraska fan and he said Husker fans didn't care for the Orange Bowl (Big Eight champions) because it was in a bad part of town - even back then.
