  1. Last year was probably the first time I actually followed the MLB draft and it was pretty exciting reading up on what the draftniks on the board thought of our selections and then the "chase" to sign as many as we could. I'm not understanding that rationale behind potentially ending the high school draft? Would those kids then go to play (local leagues or college for 3 years before then being eligible at Age 21?) Is this a play to reduce the minor leagues and costs for owners, or what advantage is gained from ending the MLB draft?
  2. This. Exactly this. We may have Miz for 5 more seasons and Harrison for 4 more, but there is no guarantee that they will be healthy and this good at the same time together again. are we going to trade Made, Pena, Pratt, or Lara… no we are not. But if we can keep those 4 as well as Payne, Letson, etc, we have to go for it. outside of BF, nobody remembers Matt Laporta. get it done… make/win the World Series
  3. We should have won this game, but our offense was a zero in important spots today. it is what it is. We usually make opponents pay for their mistakes (errors and walks), but it is extremely frustrating to have runners and scoring position and no outs multiple times and fail to score.
  4. Well that sucks. alright offense, time to put the big boy pants on
  5. I get that oil prices have come down quite a bit since the 3 month high, but fuel prices are still about 50% higher than they were three months ago… most of what I’ve read has indicated that even if this peace deal ceasefire holds that fuel prices are likely to remain elevated for the remainder of 2026 due to the supply shortages that have been developing. Given that fuel prices impact just about everything, that seems like a pretty good recipe for higher inflation through the end of the year. If inflation remains high, causing the feds to increase interest rate rates by 25 or 50 basis points over the next year, that would have an impact on the market?
  6. no, they don’t but the dodgers overall lineup is absolutely loaded and their pitching completely shut down our offense easy to hide a couple slugs in your lineup when the other 7 are all-stars
  7. I’m ok with the 2 seed as long as LA is number 1
  8. What do they keep flipping to the catcher mask or ump mask TV angle?
  9. Right! I would love for that to happen. I’m still skeptical he is a starter for us this season, but very encouraging start after an encouraging outing by Gasser yesterday. trying to keep expectations measured though after all this CLE offense is terrible
  10. Side note- Kwan was a hot item last summer, but a dumpster fire so far this year
  11. I know the Cleveland lineup was an AAAA lineup tonight, but very impressed with Gasser
  12. I’m in the bring up Pratt and Lara, DFA Perkins and Rengifo, and go for it with Skubal. Fischer, Sproat/Gasser, and Frelick would be my offer … and maybe 1 more top 11-20 prospect.
  13. I see the market is way up again today following the "peace deal". I'm skeptical that the peace deal holds... but if it does and the price of oil comes down, that could have a pretty positive impact on inflation by 2027 I'd assume. That said, I feel like we've had this "peace deal" announced about 25 times already, so I'm skeptical this is actually going to hold
  14. 85 G 0 errors, .350/.380/.550/.930 is the expectation. He might get to stay if he (Pratt) can do that (blue)
