  1. Not thrilled with this, but he's the Brewers starter tonight, so let's go Gasser. I agree with those who were excited about his short run of success in 2024, and I really hope he can find that success again. I'm not convinced it will happen, but like last night's bunt with Rengifo (which eventually plated two runs on Yelich's 2 out hit), I'm happy to be (and admit) that I'm wrong if Gasser gives us a chance to win tonight. When healthy, I think my preferred starting 5 (based on results this season) are: Miz, Harrison, Patrick, Henderson, and Crow ... if we try and keep our guys fresh with no days off... I'm good with either Sproat/Gasser in the mix, just so long as we're not giving those two an equal number of starts as Miz/Harrison.
  2. The ghosts told him to throw a no-hitter tonight or else
  3. Not going to lie. I hated bunting there with Hamilton on deck.
  4. Good lord Rengifo. Cut him on the spot… if there is a worse player in the majors please stand up. awful defender, awful base runner, awful batter.
  5. Hopefully Harrison can settle in with a lower pitch count this inning
  6. Shifted about 20% of my portfolio into a fixed 3.6% guaranteed return account. also shifted another 10% away from tech this morning. Will see what happens this Summer. I’m still 10-15 years out from accessing any funds, but this Summer just feels like something is coming
  7. I wonder if we will still see Patrick starting this week. When he initially came in yesterday, I was wondering if that was going to be a reverse piggyback… but then he only pitched once and I started to wonder if that was going to be a simulated bullpen session between starts… Right now it really seems like Patrick is our third best starting option, with Henderson when healthy as the fourth. I can deal with Sproat’s growing pains if he is the fifth starter that gets skipped sometimes. Sproat and Gasser seems unworkable.
  8. Was coaching a youth game until about 830… turned on the game and was as relaxed during a Brewers game as I was since that early Washington series. have great seats tonight and am excited to watch Harrison pitch.
  9. I agree Turbo. I'm definitely for hanging onto Bauers this year. I also would be interested in trying to keep him around over the next few years if we could. 2/$26 would seem pretty high, but I could see a 2/$12 or 3/$18 type deal. If they were both free agents next year, I don't think Vaughn/Bauers would get a combined $20m though per year.
  10. And a struggling Frelick, a Vaughn that can't hit righties, Sanchez (who hasn't hit since mid-April), and Hamilton who can't hit much but is making a difference with his baserunning
  11. Sanchez had an OPS of .400 in May... and really has not done anything in roughly 60-70 abs since mid-April. I get he's only the backup catcher... That said, I just realized his AB went from 55 in April (when he started out hot) to 33 in May (when he majorly cooled off), so it looks like Murphy has adjusted his playing time considerably. That said, our bench is pretty terrible.... Perkins, Hamilton/Rengifo, Sanchez.... woof. Ideally, we have both Bauers and Vaughn on the field together (especially versus Lefties), but aside from Vaughn (against Lefties) and Bauers, our bench really doesn't have much.
  12. This is how I feel as well. The 2025 squad seemed to be generally a group of 26 guys who were all hustling/contributing, and each week it was "next man up". Right now, we have a number of guys who have a negative WAR on the season. I can't imagine that was the case for the 2025 Brewers. Based on the realities of our market, we likely will never have a ton of 5 WAR players (Miz, Harrison, and pre-slump Turang maybe excluded), but for the Brewers to be successful we need to keep getting that extra 0.5 or 1.0 WAR per position.
  13. I love the Vaughn/Bauers platoon and how they are performing this season, but collectively, the two of them came into this season was a career total of 0.0 WAR -1.2 for Bauers and +1.2 for Vaughn. Nobody would pay $20 million for that. Are they giving us $20M in value… for sure, but the sample size would say right now that this looks like a Fluke. If Vaughn keeps it up through the end of the season he’ll have 1.5 seasons of turning it around. Bauers, IIRC was in danger of not making our playoff roster until a hot September.
  14. Will still be on our playoff roster come September/October if we make the playoffs? Will be gone (upgraded) Rengifo, Perkins, Woodford, Sanchez Will be gone (AAA) if they can’t step it up Frelick, Sproat, Hamilton/Perkins will be here purely for defense ortiz/Hamilton
  15. Given Rengifo is making $3,5 million, wouldn’t $4.5 per be a little light? I get it’s a multi-year deal. hopefully Bauers is one of those guys that realizes he’s more valuable here then elsewhere, and we can find a way to keep him around in 2027 and beyond. that said, this might be his only opportunity to cash in, so I’d understand if he took a bag from a different club
  16. Yeah. He is earning for sure. Somebody will give him 3/45?
  17. Are Miz and Harrison on over for the 2 best seasons in Brewers starting pitching history? I realize we still have 4 months to go, but wow! Incredible so far
