  1. Agreed. Henderson and Drohan are key pieces of our rotation that are contributing now. sproat (has potential) but currently is a replacement level pitcher. Because of his potential/control, he might have value for someone else without adversely impacting the Brewers current ability to compete. i just don’t see Jett or Fischer being contributors to the Brewers, but since they have “top prospect status” might be valuable in giving a different club some “flash” to get a premium player.
  2. I think our most tradable assets at the moment are: sproat jett fischer crow frelick gasser
  3. Fischer, Jett, and Sproat/Gasser/Crow, plus a lottery ticket for Skubal. miz/Harrison/Henderson should be untouchable
  4. Eat a Waffle Murphy. Maybe take a class on in-game management and we’ll take you seriously :P
  5. Remind me again how Vaughn isn’t a non-tender candidate in the offseason. I know we can’t trade him now with the Bauers injury. vaughn is a DH trying to play in the field.
  6. What was that Vaughn? How is that not an error? how we have a 30+ pitch high stress 1st inning. Good great wonderful
  7. I’m definitely onboard with bringing back Freddy if it’s a low cost move.
  8. I think you meant he sat Lara FWIW, Lara in the OF, Bauers at 1B, and Vaughn at DH is definitely my preference with 4-3 on the bench
  9. Yeah, that is just plain frustrating. Let’s take one of our hottest hitters out…
  10. I think we are in agreement that Yelich/Vaughn/Bauers should be splitting time at 1B/DH, with maybe a bit of wild Bill at DH. prior to the emergence of Lara and Mitchell, Bauers in the OF made sense, but not now. if Vaughn is going to play more (I still think he’s mediocre versus RHP) it should be at the expense of Yelich.
  11. I just don’t see Vaughn having any surplus value at $10M next season. If we can get him for $3-5M, sure…. i’ll be curious to see what the arby system does with him. I’d have to think he’s all but assured of a raise from his current $7M though. reminds me of the Hunter Renfroe situation a couple years back
  12. Spencer! Any hope on signing Bell?
  13. This was brought up a month or two ago during Vaughn’s hot streak, and at the time I thought it was crazy, but since then he has cooled off and it looks like an extreme sellers market this year at the deadline. I get we keep talking about Vaughn as the We side platoon partner for one of the young guys next year to help reach the gap to a few more prospects… but that seems like poor acid management to me, to potentially pay $10 million or more for a guy that should give you max 200 at bats. I know we are going to be getting into a prospect log jam, but maybe we could trade Vaughn as part of a bigger deal for a full-time offensive player, or for some prospects that we get done and flip to get offensive player. If Murphy would use Vaughn in a strict platoon with Yelich, I’d say keep him, but the harsh reality is that Vaughn’s PT often comes at the expense of a better offensive player. if we don’t trade him, I think he’s a prime non-tender candidate in the offseason, so why not get some value for him now with some desperate teams in the market.
  14. I’d go with Chourio, Lara, and Mitchell as starters with Lockridge as the 4th. i’d platoon Yelich and Vaughn at DH , with Bauers at 1st. i think Bauers in the outfield is unnecessary now. If Murphy wants Vaughn and Bauers in the lineup, then Yelich sits. should be a really easy decision as there’s no reason for Yelich to face Lefties anyway, and there is no reason for Vaughn to ever face a rightie
  15. Vaughn should also only face lefties moving forward. Let him mash there, but if a lefty starter gets pulled for a RH reliever, pull Vaughn. easy enough to slide Bauers in from the outfield or off the bench. i wouldn’t mind what a strict platoon for 4-3/Vaughn could do
  16. He gives up how many runs behind the dish with his awful defense and horrible challenges though. he is the CJ Abrams of catchers
  17. Why not PH for Vaughn there? Two on versus a righty… bauers slides to first and Mitchell to the OF
  18. 12 for 28 is terrible guys. i really really miss Uecker, our announcers are obnoxious. agree with then though “why challenge that” With a 2-0 count?
