Monroe to the Cubs for PTBNL

Craig Monroe was traded to the Cubs for a PTBNL, according to the Tigers/Indians telecast.

Not a huge pickup, but the Cubs are certainly being aggressive with all their signings and trades this year.

I can't wait to read how bad this signing was for the Cubs, just like all their other moves etc. Meanwhile they keep overcoming these bad moves to break away from our beloved Brewers.

I won't argue that they've been terrible moves, but they're certainly not "breaking away" from the Brewers.

Well, two months ago, the Brewers were 8.5 games up on the Cubs, and one month ago, they were 3.5 games up...now they're one down. So no, the Cubs haven't broken away by any means, but they've been 4 or so games better each month for the last two months. I don't mean to turn this in to another Brewers are blowing it thread, I just know there are going to be posts about how the Cubs didn't get one bit better with Monroe.
