  1. Just here to complain that I have ESPN+, but not ESPN proper, and there is apparently no way to watch otherwise.
  2. Yes, such a shame. I was shocked that he was only 69 as well. The Fink was such a big part of WWF/WWE history.
  3. Got the same email today as well. Glad to hear it, as I really didn't want to have to cancel YouTube TV. It's too good compared to the other options out there.
  4. Wow! How have I never heard of this band before? That was great! As a suggestion of something kinda sorta similar, I'm a huge fan of Brian Fallon, formerly of The Gaslight Anthem/The Horrible Cowes. Cover of "Teenage Dream" :
  5. Hmmm. We'll have to see then. I've been playing Battlefield 1 a lot lately, and really enjoy it. Sounds like V is going to be quite the shock to the system. I have the Beta downloaded on PS4, but the first day I tried it, I couldn't get into any of the servers. Hopefully they've resolved those issues. I'll have to give it another shot.
  6. I have Battlefield V pre-ordered. Not sure what to think of it at this point. In half the clips, you can barely even tell the game is set in Word War II. I'm worried they've decided to go all in for the Fortnite crowd, and it's going to be way too different for me.
  7. We got one a few months ago. Love it. We play it pretty much on the TV only, but it's still a lot of fun. Basically all the Nintendo exclusive games are great.
  8. Recently got a PS4, and received Skyrim for Christmas. No, I've never played it, even after all these years since it was originally released. I know where my free time is going after the next few months.
  9. That stinks, but at least look at the bright side...you now have some very relevant and recent experience that will make you more marketable to other employers.
  10. That's good news...hope it works out for you. And yes, the things some companies now make prospective job applicants go through are pretty ridiculous. I think the era of online applications has made things worse, especially for the unemployed.
  11. What industry or type of career are you pursuing? Maybe someone here can help. Not all employers are like that, jerking prospective applicants around needlessly...it sounds like maybe you just need to broaden your search outside of a narrow niche, maybe?
  12. That stinks. I'd be looking at other prospects.
  13. This...this is exactly what they're dealing with. I would keep making contact, or say something like umphrey posted. I wouldn't hold my breath that this company will get around to actually offering the job anytime soon, though. I think you're best off continuing to search and trying to schedule interviews at other companies.
  14. Bill Hall, I think.
  15. Congrats, Game. Hope it all works out for you.
  16. Game05, sorry the job didn't work out. Not sure of specific advice, but planning on a career making around 30k a year doesn't sound like a great option.
  17. I would try to keep it general and not get into specifics. Maybe you could say something like, "I didn't feel I was a good fit there because I had different work philosophies than some of the management there, but I did learn some valuable skills that I know would translate well to this position."
  18. I'd probably be inclined to just use the current letters you have. I don't see a problem with that.
  19. Good move on the business cards. Not sure what you were thinking telling them you didn't want to live in San Francisco. I know everyone says foot-in-mouth things sometimes though, especially during interviews. Years ago, after college, when I was trying to get into radio, I applied and was interviewed for a one night a week, part time news position at WTMJ. The guy asked me where I saw myself in five years. I said, "Working as a DJ at an FM rock station." Well, that interview lasted literally about five minutes.
  20. Couldn't you relocate for a position though (ie. move to Fort Atkinson)? Might be tough given your apparent situation, but you're really limiting yourself if you're not willing to.
  21. In my experience, college professors don't really know anything about if resume and cover letter are really marketable are not, so I wouldn't take them at their word. None of my college professors were any real help with finding a job, frankly. Still, if they have any connections to any actual people in industry, it couldn't hurt to contact them. The cold truth is, companies aren't sitting around waiting for you to call them or send in your application. You basically have to go get yourself a job if you really want one. It's a lot of work and it can be tough, but you need to keep at. Applying for 2-3 jobs a week isn't anywhere near enough. You need to be working any contacts you have, attending any meet ups as others have suggested...really anything to get your face and name out there.
  22. I wonder if you could also look into doing some type of free lance work on the side? If you get real desperate, you could contact local firms and tell them you're willing to work for free just to get experience in their work environment (basically an informal internship). I've heard of that working. I agree with Game05 that simply retreating back into school isn't a good solution.
  23. Game05 makes a good suggestion with contacting Cygnus. I used to know a couple people that work there, but unfortunately not anymore. I would just advise you to work any and all contacts you have. Lean on your teachers from school, classmates, etc. These days it's less what you know, and more who you know. Yeah, it's cliche, but it's the absolute truth these days.
  24. Years ago I had an interview with Generac, which I thought went great. Was kind of excited about it at the time...then got a form email the next night saying they went with someone else. I know that's not directly related to your question, but that's been my experience with them. I would just keep calling each day if you're really interested in it.
  25. The nice thing about Fort is that it's roughly halfway between Madison and Milwaukee. I would say Fort has a lot more to do than Whitewater (though they do have a small but decent movie theater there). Janesville is also a short drive away.
