Cardinals are down 5-3 in the 9th. I hope they lose and then go on to sweep or take 3 of 4 from the Cubs.

Reds complete the sweep. Ouch for the Cards, yay for us.

I see the Cards have lost 7 in a row now - yikes! Guess now is as good as time as any for them to break out of that slump :-). Go Cards - beat up on the Cubs!

At least Trachsel is going for the Cubs tonight. He has been pretty horrible since the acquisition.

He is going on 3 days rest, too.

Looks like an even game in Houston.

3 days' rest for Trachsel? The WGN guys last night said it was Marshall. If not, that 6-man rotation is really working out well!

Well the Cardinals are definitely due for some wins now, which is a good thing. I'm pretty sure the "law of averages" gods are seeing this and realize that the Cards are due for a 3/4 series or at least 2/4. If not either of those two then I'm pretty sure by the time the Cards come to town in a week and a half they'll be emotionally out of it.

Interesting that the Cardinals are 0-7 since the news about Ankiel broke. Go Astros tonight...Woody Williams has actually been stellar against the Cubs so far this year.

4-0 Cubs, still no outs in the first inning.

This isn't going well. lol

Soriano leadoff homer, followed by two singles, followed by an Aramis Ramirez HR to make it 4-0. Cubs bat around in the first inning, but at least they didn't score more than 4. I have the feeling that this game is going to be like 9-8 before it's said and done.

Edit: Hunter Pence leads off with a double, and Cecil Cooper calls for Biggio to bunt him over to third in the bottom of the first...what the hell? Why waste an out trying to get Pence (who runs well) over to third? Isn't it a little early to be playing for one run?

I thought the same thing when I saw the bunt.

The Astros really stink with RISP. It looks like Williams is settling down for them, but they can't get anyone home against Trachsel.

I am kind of worried about the Cubs winning these two extra games they are going to have on us. That will put a lot of pressure on the young guys, something I'm nervous about how they'll handle it.
