Brewers Video
At least he will have a World Series ring to remember his time in the Milwaukee Brewers' organization.
Outfielder Akil Baddoo was claimed off waivers Monday by the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 28-year-old had been designated for assignment by the Brewers.
Baddoo signed a split contract with the Brewers last offseason, which pays him one salary while in the minors and another while in the majors. But Baddoo was never called up by the Crew. Baddoo began the season on the 60-day injured list following a strained quadriceps sustained in spring training. He played in just 66 minor-league games and had a slash line of .252/.348/.470 with 11 homers and 47 RBIs.
With how crowded the Brewers' outfield situation is entering this offseason, there was little chance of Baddoo's situation improving with Milwaukee.
