Brewers Video
Jacob Misiorowski, Mike Boeve, Melvin Hernandez and Filippo Di Turi all had big days in 4 wins for Nashville, Biloxi and Carolina (doubleheader), with Jose Anderson powering the ACL Brewers to victory as well. Tyler Black also started his rehab and Jeferson Quero homered in further good news, while Wisconsin was rained out.

Via the Sounds’ website, game details, and we encourage readers to review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Misiorowski Dominant Again, Sounds Win Fourth Straight
The Brewers may have been idle Thursday, but they were still the talk of the baseball world as RHP Jacob Misiorowski did things unseen at any level of baseball since velocity readings became the norm:
After yet another dominant showing of control and heat by Misiorowski (7 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 1 BB, 5 Ks), BrewerFanatic’s Matthew Trueblood makes the case that these 103mph pitches should be landing in the gloves of Contreras and Haase henceforth.
Of course, you don’t win games and take a 3-0 series lead on pitching alone, so 2B Anthony Seigler provided Nashville’s first run to tie the game in the 5th inning (6th homer, .936 OPS in his first season in AAA).
It was still 1-1 in the top of the 9th inning, after RHP Craig Yoho escaped 2 singles and an HBP in the 8th, setting the stage for Wes Clarke, Adam Hall and Jimmy Herron to deliver three singles and a win:
Sounds’ Extras:
- SS Freddy Zamora (.298 AVG, 2-for-3 in this game) has been holding his own this season and can expect even more playing time after Vinny Capra was claimed by the White Sox.
- Recent signee OF/INF Bobby Dalbec is still shaking off rust, now 0-for-13 since joining the Sounds.
Friday’s outlook: LHP Bruce Zimmermann’s reward for 4 innings of scoreless relief on Sunday is a chance to make his 4th start of 2025, with the Sounds looking to clinch a road series victory.

Via the Shuckers’ website, game details: Boeve's 4-RBI Night Leads Shuckers to League-Leading 22nd Win
Adding Mike Boeve (working his way back after an injury) to the best offense in the Southern League may seem unfair to opponents, especially since he’s now contributing to the homer brigade:
Boeve’s 3-run homer was his first since August 2024 and gave the Shuckers a 3-1 lead in support of starting RHP Alexander Cornielle (3 R, 3 H, 6 BB, 5 Ks), who had to battle control issues to get through 4 2/3 innings and 94 pitches (53 strikes).
With the game still tight at 3-2 in the top of the 5th inning, a 1B Luke Adams (1-for-3, double, 2 walks) leadoff walk help trigger another 3-run frame, with Boeve (2-for-4, HR, 4 RBIs) and Cooper Pratt (2-for-5, RBI) contributing singles.
2B Zavier Warren keeps swinging with confidence, adding a 2-run shot in the 7th inning:
Shuckers’ Extras:
- RHP Chase Costello only threw 2 pitches, but that was enough to strand 2 baserunners for Cornielle. That triggered a run of 4 1/3 scoreless, hitless innings from the bullpen, with RHP Will Childers covering 2 innings and recording 4 strikeouts.
- The hottest hitter in Minor League Baseball (3B Brock Wilken) only managed a single and a walk (only?) in this victory, but Baseball America put him in a feature article to keep him top of mind.
- C Darrien Miller and OF Bladimir Restituyo also had decent offensive production in the win, combining on a 3-for-6 evening with 2 walks and a stolen base.
Friday’s outlook: RHP Brett Wichrowski is scheduled to make his 3rd start of 2025, having delivered 4 innings and 55 pitches last week. Biloxi can claim a 3-1 series advantage with another road victory.
Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes
Rained Out: Beloit at Wisconsin
Via the Timber Rattlers’ website, rainout details: Rattlers/Sky Carp Postponed on Thursday Night
Hopefully the unscheduled day off will help Wisconsin re-group and re-load after falling behind 2 games to zero in their home series against Beloit.
Friday’s outlook: RHP Tyson Hardin (1.42 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 9.7 K/9 in 31 2/3 IP) and LHP Anthony Flores (6.65 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, 9.6 K/9 in 21 2/3 IP) are expected to start the Timber Rattlers’ doubleheader, with the club needing to win both games to knot up this week’s series.

Down to 14 active pitchers (3 of whom recently threw multiple innings) and facing 5 games in 4 days, starting RHP Melvin Hernandez (7 IP, 2 R, 6 H, 0 BB, 8 Ks) understood the mission: Save the Staff and Win the Game.
And boy did the 18-year old come through! The second youngest pitcher in the Carolina League delivered a 94-pitch complete game, peppering the zone for 3 innings (40 pitches, 31 strikes), escaping a difficult 4th frame aided by 2 outs on the bases, then bearing down to only allow 2 harmless singles over the final 3 frames.
3B Jesus Made and OF Luis Lameda provided the key hits in that opening-game win, combining on a 4-for-5 game with a double, walk, 3 RBIs and 2 stolen bases:
2B/3B Filippo Di Turi also contributed 2 hits in the first game, before getting the party started in the night cap with his 5th homer of 2025 as part of a 5-for-6, 2 RBI day for him:
In his 7th appearance of 2025, starting RHP Bryan Rivera came through with his best outing of year, delivering 5 innings of 1-run, 1-hit baseball with 5 strikeouts (and 3 BB).
The game was 4-1 in the 5th inning when Carolina opened the floodgates with a 6-run frame, including RBI doubles from OF Reece Walling and C Eric Martinez (first action in 2 weeks):
Mudcats’ Extras:
- The sweep gives the Mudcats a 3-0 series lead, but we need to watch the health status of OF Braylon Payne, who exited the second game after stealing 2 bases and scoring in the 3rd inning.
- In that second contest, every spot in the Mudcats’ lineup reached base via walk or hit, with the somewhat surprising exception of Made, who still contributed an RBI.
- LHP Anfernny Reyes set aside last week’s nightmare relief outing and a leadoff double in the 7th inning to retire the final three hitters on a sacrifice fly and 2 ground outs.
Friday’s outlook: RHP Jaron DeBerry is set for his 3rd start of 2025, with Carolina positioned to clinch yet another series win. Will we see the return of 2B Josh Adamczewski (last played May 2nd) to the lineup?
Final: ACL Brewers 6, ACL Cubs 5 (in 10 innings)
Box Score and Game Log
The old adage that we can throw out win-loss records for rivalry games held true here, as the winless Cubs pushed the first place ACL Brewers to extra innings, before the superior team prevailed.
Rehabbing 1B Tyler Black (1-for-3, run) and C Jeferson Quero (1-for-2, HR, walk, RBI) may have been atop the lineup (before exiting after 5 innings), but the teenagers carried the heavy load yet again to push the team’s record to 8-2 with this extra inning victory.
18-year old RHP Tyler Renz made his first start (2nd appearance) in the Brewers’ system, limiting the opposition to 2 runs over 5 innings, with 4 strikeouts, supported by Quero’s first inning homer, DH Luis Corobo’s (3-for-5) 2nd inning leadoff double and OF Jose Anderson’s 2-out, 2-run single in the 5th inning.
19-year old RHP Wenderlyn King (4 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 4 H, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 3 Ks) retired 8 of the first 9 batters he faced, before conceding 2 eighth inning runs on 3 consecutive singles to knot the contest at 4-4.
The game looked lost after a Cubs’ leadoff triple against King in the bottom of the 9th inning, which followed the Brewers loading the bases with nobody out in the top half yet coming up empty (3 straight Ks). However, King and the defense rallied with a strikeout and ground ball double play to send the contest to extras.
Anderson (3-for-5, triple, 3 RBIs) then came through again with a leadoff RBI triple, before adding an important insurance run on an error. RHP Daurys Mora earned the save despite allowing a run-scoring double with 2 outs in the bottom of the 10th, getting his 2nd strikeout of the inning on the final batter.
Friday’s outlook: The ACL Brewers play at the ACL Dodgers (6-3) at 8:00pm CST, with the Dodgers likely seeking revenge after being pummeled 15-2 on Tuesday.
We hope that you enjoy the Minor League Link Report. On Friday, Wisconsin kicks off a six-game Minor League set with Game One of their doubleheader commencing at 5:10pm CST. The Milwaukee Brewers also return to action, hosting the Twins at 7:10pm.
