  1. Lynn has always been a big boy, but wowza. That belly rivals mine, and I drink enough beer for both Lynn and myself.
  2. This ump is terrible. Low strike is there, then it's not, then it is again. What a bum.
  3. Bauers doesn't bother me as much because I know he's not a long term solution. So he's... meh... until the Brewers can finally solve their 1B woahs. I realize Chourio has looked like a AAA player but he could just camp in the 8th or 9th spot and provide more value than some other AAAA player who also doesn't have a long term future here, IMO. I figured they'd get more from Frelick but maybe he's just fighting himself now or what. Not sure but he looks like he's lost a lot of his power, of which was questionable to begin with.
  4. I realize I'm being a downer in an in-game thread, but this team feels like they're trending in the opposite direction. Getting Yelich back should help but this is the same stuff we've seen for a while. A lot of weak contact early in the count, a lot of weak contact when they get into hitter's counts - IF they get into those counts. I know I said it in other threads that this is probably not a year they expect to compete but you hope that the young guys can take a step forward and so far it's only been Turang. We'll see what Mitchell looks like but I hope the player who loses PT to Mitchell is Frelick..and that's saying a lot.
  5. It looks like he's getting good wood on the ball only to fly out to medium-depth OF. Almost nothing on a line to any gap. His extra base hits have been things hit down the line or hustle doubles.. which are great, but those usually hits you get ON TOP of your ringing doubles, etc. There is NONE of that for Frelick. He's not hitting the ball hard at all.
  6. I honestly hate watching this team right now, not sure why I subject myself to it.
  7. Could have done without that homerun.
  8. I can live with Chourio's struggles. I'm more concerned with Frelick's pool noodle he's swinging.
  9. With 2, 3, and potentially 4 up, that's a really bad send even with the fielder running to his right. Dunn didn't have a great read and yeah. Frustrating.
  10. As they mentioned last night on the broadcast, having Yelich means you can rotate more players into/out of the lineup to keep them fresh. As for Dunn, I'm not sure what to think. His defense plays and he can put together pretty good at bats but he has a really big hole in his swing in the upper part of the zone. I would say the Brewer management feels he can learn in the Bigs, like Chourio, but his lack of hard contact lately has me wondering. Bauers is a player that I think probably has the shortest leash, even though he can play in the outfield, too. I guess they want Black playing every day in AAA rather than 3-5 days a week up here, if that's what it would've been. Some of these are good problems to have, IMO.
  11. I assume TB will be back up in a more permanent fashion a bit later in the year when the dust settles from more moves, injuries, etc. I don't really care for the move, but I get it,
  12. Can they make tonight the tonight they win after trailing through 8?
  13. Two runs feels like a lot the way they have been looking at the plate lately. Aside from some long balls, doesn't feel like this team drives the ball with any consistency. The outfielders in particular look tired like their swings don't have much leg behind them. Hopefully they can prove me wrong.
  14. Feels like they're due for an offensive outburst here any day; would be really nice if they could pair that with a lengthy start from Rea.
  15. Turang plays plus-plus defense, so of course Clancy wants him traded.
  16. I don't think I would argue otherwise, and I've basically looked at him as a stop-gap until Weeks is the manager and Murph retires with his MLB pension (if he doesn't have it already) and he's ready to step away from managing.
  17. I'm not sure what a manager is going to do when the offense looks like it does. There are just way too many guys who probably shouldn't be out there every day. I think this is the year to play them to see what we have but the future of this offense is who, and who actually excites you? Contreras? Frelick looks like his "power" is going to be from balls hit down the line that he's legging into extra base hits. Hoskins has been..meh.. Dunn looks like he belongs in AAA. Ortiz doesn't appear to be a high slugging player. Chourio is 20 years old after skipping AAA. There are a lot of issues with this team. Not trying to tell anyone to stop complaining in the thread because I'm routinely the biggest culprit but it's probably good to keep this season in perspective a bit, as frustrating as it is.
  18. He was always going to be out. They had one camera angle and it wasn't clear he was safe. Fine with the gamble. This team isn't going to string together a bunch of hits and they need to make something happen.
  19. I'm fine bringing Koenig in.. he just needs to be better.
