    First of all, baseball is a sport, a hobby, entertainment.....it is not curing cancer or teaching young children to read. The Hall of Fame is simply a place where the best in the sport of baseball are held to a high honor because of how good they were when they played the game.....not how moral. I am sure that there are other HOFers that have also broken rules, but they have never been "caught". There are also HOFers that having the biggest ego's you could imagine and are quite frankly not good people. But they ALL, including Pete Rose, deserve to be in the HOF because of what they accomplished statisticly in the game. To be in the HOF does not mean you are a good person, that you were a good husband or father, that you were a good friend to anyone....it simply means that you were good at baseball. Pete Rose has some of the best statistics, in almost every category. He played the game well. His name should be in the HOF. IMO - I also don't think that you should have to be reinstated to the game of baseball to be in the HOF. He should be in the HOF but never be reinstated. I don't trust him to manage or be in any authority position in baseball. I also think his name should not have an * or any other word before it. Just Pete Rose, Hall of Famer.

    MassBrew - I think the rule has changed this year about the number of active players allowed on a roster. I think they dropped the rule that the active roster must go down to 23 after a certain date. I think the roster may remain at 24 all season long. I am not sure where to verify this but maybe you do.

    I just spoke to Matt Childers on the phone and he is not in Puerto Rico. He is not planning on going back. They must be mixing him up with someone else.

    FYI: Matt Childers has returned home to Georgia with his family. His daughter, Abbie, became really sick in Mayaguez and was in the hospital for over a week. Jason and his wife were up late every night helping Matt and his wife with their older son and helping to make trips to the hospital. Matt's daughter is doing much better now at home.

    Mayaguez was rained out on Wednesday, Thursday, and possibly Friday.

    I highly doubt they made offers to any of these guys. I know they didn't offer my family member a contract.

    Luis Martinez, Shane Nance and Mike Crudale were all recalled up to Milwaukee after the game. Good luck to them all and hope they have a great September. Rushford was able to play in tonights game but was held out of the line up. Not sure why.

    MassBrew, Jeff Robinson is wearing #34 in Huntsville. But either number is lucky for Jeff. Congrats to all the Huntsville boys on making the playoffs.
