  1. So where does this one rank in the most frustrating losses of 2004 list? I'm not very objective right now, but I'll put it right up at the top. We could've, would've, SHOULD'VE won... ridiculous bullpen management and terrible relief pitching by old unreliable, Jeff Bennett, combined to make this one of the most frustrating losses in a while. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/devil.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif ~Bill
  2. God dangit. Unhappy, I am. ~Bill
  3. Praise the good lord, and the karma police, and your deity of choice. CATCHER'S FREAKING INTERFERENCE. Blame Mondesi. C'mon, Junior!!!! ~Bill
  4. No way they were going to throw him out? He would have been out by a mile! Hellooooooo, Mr. Schroeder?!? ~Bill
  5. Exactly, diskono. That's way too progressive for any manager right now, however, much less Nedley. Nice walk, Counsell!!! You da' man. Podzilla... you need to be the man, here. You need to be the man. So go be the man. Thank you. ~Bill
  6. Nice hit, Griever. I thought you only tried to walk, though, and were overmatched by studly pitchers? Guess I was mistaken. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ~Bill
  7. I don't understand how K-Rod's arm doesn't explode on every slider/curveball. He is defying physics and biology and every other law of nature. It's unnatural, I tell ya'. I think he's a mutant or something. ~Bill
  8. Not his best, but not bad for Adams. The hit batsman was really the only mistake, as the two base hits came on a grounder and a little blooper. He had some issues controlling his slider, but he got out of it. I just don't get Yost's placement of Bennett above Adams on the "key situations" depth chart. His handling of the bullpen in this game has been horrible. Granted, the guys didn't do the job... but Nedley didn't set them up to succeed, either. There's enough blame to go around if they end up dropping this one. C'mon, offense. Don't suck. ~Bill
  9. Ok, this sucks. Groundball and a duck snort, and two runs for the Angels. Jeff Bennett = Goat. ~Bill
  10. *** was that, Guillen? EDIT: Dag nabbit. That ball had eyes... good job by Adams getting the groundball. That pitch was not right down the middle, it was on the outside corner at the knees. Bill Schroeder is an incompetent boob. ~Bill
  11. Ok, Mike Adams was available and Nedley chose Bennett instead. That's horse#@$%. There's no question about it... Adams is a better pitcher, he's been a better pitcher, and he's been better in pressure situations. How many times does mister BENNETT!!! have to fail in these "close and late" outings for Nedley to start using him in lower leverage innings? Horse#@$%. EDIT: I almost forgot to mention... *dreamy* http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ~Bill
  12. BENNETT!!! Highly questionable. ~Bill

  14. Well, that was pretty darned cool. 12 minute at-bats don't come along everyday. Now, dispose of Mr. Eckstein, please. ~Bill
  15. The Rally Monkey was cool in 2001. In 2004, it's freaking annoying. Death to you, Rally Monkey! ~Bill
  16. Well, that didn't work out so good. We should cut the Toolshed some slack, 'cause I'm sure his thoughts are with his wife and son and he probably hasn't thrown a ball until today. You kind of have to lay this one on Nedley's doorstep... part of his job is knowing whether a guy is mentally ready to go or not, and it was pretty clear that Brooks wasn't. I'm not going to go ballistic about it, as gauging your players' mental situations is undoubtedly difficult, but that wasn't a very good move bringing Brooks in. $.02, ~Bill
  17. Dangit. EDIT: Bring in Kolb. This is the game right here. That's not a bad idea, but there's no way Nedley would deviate from "the book" like that. Kiesch is good at getting grounders, too, but I would have had more confidence that Kolb could have induced a DP ball. Oh well. Keep Kotchman from scoring and then get some runs!!! ~Bill
  18. We just had a Brooks Kieschnick sighting. Looks like he's back and ready to go. Nice. ~Bill
  19. Just got in, I see Wes is throwing very nicely for the forth consecututive start. How about some props for him everyone? Anyway, Wes is good for six innings and thats it, I hope Ned has the bullpen warmed up and ready for the 7th and on. I like Wes, and I think he'll probably out-pitch Santos over the long-term. He hasn't really thrown nicely for the last four starts, however... he gave up 4 runs on 7 hits in 5 innings last time out against the Padres. Still, his groundball/flyball ratio is solid and like I've said many times, he's a very young 27 (because he only started pitching in his senior year of college). For Curtis Leskanic, he's a very nice acquisition. Obie love, ~Bill
  20. Aaron Sele's Injured? Shocking. ~Bill
  21. Kind of weird, no K's at all in this game so far I think they K'd enough on Tuesday to last at least a couple weeks. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Daron just said the itinerary calls for the Brewers' plane to land in Milwaukee at 6 something in the morning tomorrow. That's really lame. ~Bill
  22. Anyone wanna give a good reason to carry three catchers in the American League? a) Mike Scioscia was a catcher? b) The Molina brothers only count as one? c) Jose Molina is a good pinch-runner? d) Bengie Molina is hurt and can't play, so they only really have two catchers? I think it's D, but it could be any of the others, too. ~Bill
  23. There's 52 visitors online... we can do better than 24 posts, no? Is everyone burned out from the last two late nights? Hopefully Obermueller can keep this up for another inning or two. A few more runs would be nice, too. How aboot them Brewers, eh? ~Bill
  24. Stars lose 8-1 & drop below 500 for first time this year. But they'll win 90 or 100 games, right? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif We were a little delusional, unfortunately. ~Bill
