  1. Tickets are still available, if anyone is interested. We will also include 4 Metavante passes (to make up for the non-alcohol section), if someone buys these.
  2. I know you said your job is in the Milwaukee area, but depending on where exactly it is (or which specific city), I'd say try to get a place as close to there as possible, since it sounds like you don't have that specific of an area you're looking at right now and seem pretty open. I think a lot of people would probably underestimate the benefits of a short commute, or how nice it would be to be able to go home for lunch or to be able to run back home from work if you forgot something or if you need to take care of something real quick. If I were looking for a place, I'd literally start with places I could walk to work from, and branch out from there. This all assumes you're already looking at suburbs, etc, but it sounds like you are. There definitely will be a lot more to do in Milwaukee itself, but you didn't mention you were looking there. Of the cities you listed below, I've lived in the Falls and West Allis, and I think you'd be fine in either of those, or pretty much any suburb. Also, there will be a lot more going on downtown or on the east side, but it sounds like you are focusing more on the suburbs? If you're looking in Milwaukee itself, you'd probably want to look at specific areas, and avoid others.
  3. I've got 4 tickets for the Saturday Cubs game available, section 309, row 3. These are in the family section, so no alcohol is allowed (which is why we're selling them, we didn't notice that at first), also no wait service. We paid $60/ea, plus a $1 handling fee, total order was $244. We are just looking to get our money back on these, and the game is sold out.
  4. I honestly don't know the row, but I think its like 12 or 14. I would know the exact seat details when the tickets arrive, but I'll see if I wrote it down somewhere. Definitely one of the sections closer to the plate, and not a bad row. These are season seats I bought 81 games in, so they aren't nosebleeds (besides the fact they are in the terrace).
  5. I've got a full season package of terrace seats, but due to softball obligations, most weeknights (especially Tuesdays and Thursdays) are pretty tough for me to get to, and due to work obligations, most weekday games are pretty much out of the question. This leaves me with a pretty good chunk of tickets which I end up looking to sell or give away or end up eating, but these games I can't get to are generally the same ones a lot of people can't or don't want to go to either. I was also lucky enough to be able to buy some additional opening day tickets this year, so my season seats are technically "extras". So, I'm thinking that if someone was interested in buying @ face value a dozen or so of the games I don't want, that I'd be willing to let them include opening day as one of the games. Face value is $14 per ticket, I have 4, and they are something like section 424 or 426. As far as the games I'd be offering, it would be almost all Mon-Thur games, April-August, with a few possible exceptions. I would like to keep the Twins series, and the Memorial Day Cards game, but almost everything else would be fair game (I can't think of anything else I want to keep right now). You could pick and choose whichever 12 you want, and certainly could buy more than 12 if you wanted to do that. Some other games, including weekends would be negotiable, especially if someone was interested in buying more of the weekday games. 12 games @ $14/game comes to $168/seat or $672 total for all 4. I'd prefer to do this all 4 at once, but would consider breaking it up 2 and 2, assuming I had 2 interested parties. Not sure how that would affect the drafting the games. If anyone is interested, please post or PM me.
  6. I've got a quick question regarding face value for tickets, and am wondering what is considered face value regarding season tickets which are sold at a discount. Is the actual price printed on the ticket considered face value, or would the actual price paid be face? For example, when buying a full season package under the "terrace treat" package the Brewers have been offering, price per ticket per game comes out to $5. Price stated on tickets is $14 though, and that is what someone would pay through the box office buying single game seats. If someone offers terrace treat tickets for $14 each would that be frowned upon or against the rules?
  7. From what I've heard Blalock didn't lose his 3B job as much as he can't really play 3B anymore due to injuries, and specifically his arm. The Rangers have a need at 3B, and if Blalock could play there full-time or as a platoon, they'd keep him themselves. I'd be all over getting a pre-injury Blalock to hold down 3B for us, but I'm not sure he's a realistic option anymore. If we did decide to take a flyer on Blalock and see if he could indeed play 3B again, I doubt the Rangers would have much interest in a 1B/DH like Nelson, since they've got plenty of those guys themselves, but pitching prospects such as the guys previously mentioned should get their attention. I don't think his price would be that high, but I also don't think he fits the Brewers' needs at this point. I also agree with the other posters who mentioned Chad Tracy, and think he'd work out better for the Brewers (but still wouldn't be ideal).
  8. Wow, exactly the info I was looking for. I'll forward the info on to him. I appreciate the help.
  9. A buddy of mine's dad told me he heard a commercial on the radio for some kind of bat they are selling for the Brewers being in the playoffs. I think he heard in on 620, and he said its from Louisville Slugger (he thinks), and they are only selling 500 or so. He is interested in buying one, and asked me if I knew anything about them. I have no idea what he's talking about, does this ring a bell with anyone here?
  10. OK, I know the Mets did win the coin flip for home field in the event of a tiebreaker game, but have any details about the potential game been announced? Do we know what day it would be (I assume 9/29), and game time or at least if it would be a day or night game?
  11. Posting this for a friend of mine. He's got a used Wii with one extra controller which he'd like to sell. Only game included is Wii sports which came with the system. He's looking to get $250, and would like to arrange a local pickup/delivery. System is in perfect shape, hasn't been used much, and not at all in the past few months. If anyone's interested post or PM me. I can answer most questions or relay them to my buddy.
  12. Why is it that when one poster makes a post knocking the Badgers, your response is a generalization about "hardcore Marquette fans"? I realize there are plenty of Badger haters among MU fans, but there are also just as many MU haters among Badger fans, that's for sure. For every negative comment made about UW by some MU fan, I can promise you there is a similar negative comment made against the Golden Eagles by a fan of the Badgers. I think as far as this rivalry goes, there are very few fans who are truly unbiased, and almost every single fan choses one team over the other. The degree to which the fans cheer for/against their rival does vary though, everything from "I'll cheer for the other unless they're playing my team" to "my second favorite team besides (MU or UW) is whoever is playing (the other)". In any case, the negativity/hate among some fans, obviously doesn't come exclusively from the MU side.
  13. I've got a draft coming up this weekend, and am looking for a free cheat sheet to give me a ballpark idea of how the draft should go. I'm in a pretty deep NL and AL league regular 5x5 roto scoring. Now, I'm not necessarily looking to base my whole draft off a sheet by any means, I'm looking for more of something to give me a feel for where in the draft players should go (or have been going) in general. A spreadsheet or something I can print out would be ideal. Any suggestions?
  14. From what I hear, something like 1 in 5 bobbles are the "special" ones, right? I'm wondering if there is an accepted rate for trading special for normal bobbles. I'd think 2 for 1, or maybe 3 for 1 but I really have no idea. For example, if I happened to get one of the special ones, and somone else has a few of the regular, what would be considered a fair trade? If I were to ask for 3 normals, would that be pushing it? If they offered me just 2 normals, would that be a lowball offer?
  15. You know, I think I'm also in the minority here, but I agree with Time for a Miller that Bill Hall is a bit overrated by some fans. I get the impression that a significant portion (maybe even the majority) of fans consider him to be an elite superstar and the cornerstone to the Brewers' franchise, and to be honsest with that I disagree. Now, I definitely think he's a solid player, and he had a great season last year, but I'm not ready to place him among the MVP contenders or perrenial all-stars just yet. If he builds on his 2006 season, and takes the next step forward in 2007 that a lot of fans are expecting and assuming, then yes, he'll have to be included with the top-tier players. But, in my opinion placing him among the elite at this point in time is probably a big premature. I guess my whole point is not that Hall isn't good or even great, but just than he isn't as good or as great as more than a few fans think. Also, I hope I'm wrong, and that Billy wins NL MVP this year, and the triple crown, all while leading the Brewers to the World Series.
  16. Has anyone here not competely written off Jenkins? It seems like the board consensus in this thread and many others, is that he is pretty much worthless and the Brewers need to dump him for nothing ASAP. Does anyone think he may be able to bounce back from last year's (admittedly very bad) season? Now, I'm not saying he's sure to bounce back, I'm not even saying I expect him to, but I definitely don't think its out of the question. He does have a few things going for him, for example: He's only 32 years old, which is definitely not young, but it isn't like he's 38. There are plently of players who's pime has lasted well into their mid-30's, and some guys have even had their career years after age 32. Strictly looking at age, there's no reason to assume Jenkins is washed up and passed his prime. Yes, he had a terrible season by his standards in 2006, but his 2005 season was just fine. In fact Jenkins' 2005 season was very comprable to Hall's 2006 (and Hall's season has led to him being annointed as the Brewers' franchise player by many posters here). Is it really out of the question that Jenkins can come close to repeating a season he is only 2 years removed from? Also, this is a contract year for Jenkins. If he wants to continue to get paid like he has been, he's going to have to produce this year. There are many, many examples of players players producing at higher levels in walk years, once there is more money on the line. As far as his contract goes, I do realize that $7 million is way too much to pay a bench or platoon player. Jenkins' contract is probably the biggest strike against him, and I think his contract would be the #1 reason it may not be a bad idea to trade him. But, I do think his contract isn't quite as bad as some would suggest. At one time a contract like Jenkins' was all-star caliber money, but I don't think that is the case any more. Considering the other contracts we've seen signed this year, if Jenkins does happen to bounce back to his '05 level, it would be tough to call him overpaid at $7 million/year. So, the bottom line, is that I think it is too early to give up on Jenkins, and I do think he is undervalued and underrated by many posters here. Like I said, I'm not counting on him returning to his previous form, but I also don't think its nearly as unlikely as some do. I recognize that he may go the other direction too, and have even a worse season in '07, but I'm hoping that doesn't happen.
