    how 'bout brandon gemoll??? he has been pretty good this year...and id like to give him a high five for being consistent....don't look now, but his ops is higher than Krynzel's sure, he doesn't walk that much...but he has been better at AA this year than he was in high desert last year...thats gotta mean something I dont think this guy is a future star..but he could make a decent bat off the bench one day

    i wont be eating anything until jm throws a full season without having to go on the dl which will probably never happen but i will happily eat my words(again)if he has luis like success

    im nearly positive that you cant just stash someone on the dl if he is rule fived.. so if jm was rule fived next year, then a team would have to keep him on the 25 man for all of 2005 no team would consider this

    at some point this week, david manning will be outrighted...i suspect...hes not a prospect...hes not that good..and he will clear waivers...so he will lose his newly acquired 40 man spot...problem solved of course, ritchie could/should be outrighted as well

    lewis didnt say that prince was too risky...he said he was too fat...and said nothing beyond i enjoyed the book...but you are right...lewis put too much stock into the a's 2002 draft...if things dont work out well with those guys, then the book wont hold much value....though it is useful because it shows how easily beane got all the picks he wanted...whether or not that is a good thing is yet to be decided

    dont know if anyone has noticed this..but ben's obp against is in the .280's...to go along with an ops against below .700...hes got the fifth lowest whip in the league...and of course, hes pacing in innings pitched....if ben hadnt already given up 25 hr's this would be an incredibly could year... nonetheless, a true break out season from a great pitcher and great guy

    thats exactly the opposite of the way i feel..pitchers should be handled with mittnes...if a fielding prospect has a strong skill..ie obp, defense..then he can move pretty quickly..but i think pitchers should never ever ever be rushed...just see what happened to neugie, diggins and pember for my reasons why

    i think they will all spend a good amount of time in indy..i suspect some of them will spend more than just 2004 there.. theres nothing wrong with that..some of these guys are really young..and id definitely rather get them up when they are ready to produce like major leaguers...ala hank blalock 2003..and not hank blalock 2002

    possible that brad nelson is moved to huntsville to get a better grip on lf in a normal environment??? this could signal him and prince on the same team next year... i dont see how nelson could be moved to AAA next year...he needs more time

    dj clark did not deserve to be sent down...at all...the man was sporting a .380-.390 obp with a .240 ba...thats great...if he had had one hot week with 4 or 5 extra base hits, then his number would have looked much better... as it stands... what are they gonna do with him next year?? send him back to huntsville?? i guess his being in high A will lessen the need to add him to the 40 this year...but man, thats kinda crazy

    the jamey wright to glendon rusch comparison was in jest...but remember, jamey wasnt traded until the aug. 31 trade deadline...giving rusch plenty of time to get it together! ha! maybe its time we tested that "any decent starting pitcher would make a great closer" theory

    if they dont trade ey, they dnt trade him...hes been a good ball player in mke...and i guess i can live with it...i mean, it would be great to find out what else we got..but the team hasnt given up on winning games yet so they probably lan on keeping some of the talent

    speaking technically....adelanto is in southern california...or maybe middle california...its definitely not in northern california hehe

    id start him in high desert...though i dont want to block callix...i think that rickie can handle it...and if he cant...then hes gonna have trouble sticking in the majors in three years

    when you were a little kid...did your parents ever put some of the christmas presents out early? you wanted to open them before christmas didnt you.. weeks is the same way...we know he will sign...we know he will play next year...but we wanna see him this year i dont think it will mess up his development at all if he doeanst play till next year, but at the same time i wanna see if he can have a prince/tony gwynn/lou type start to his pro career....it makes it a lot easier to justify starting the guy at high desert next year if he had a couple of good months in beloit as well

    i would happily give a player another million or two to avoid giving him a major league contract...i really think the union should put an end to those...but hey, all the players union wants is more members and more money
