  1. most of those guys turned into major league regulars...and most of them were pretty good...i dont think there are any hall of famers on that list...but definitely some all stars
  2. go cart racing....the smaller the man, the faster the cart
  3. hey jim...you shoulda come into the chat room..one of your favorite former brewer farm hands checked in for awhile... lets just say the sox are treating him better than the crew
  4. Sanchez, Hammonds, Rusch, Quevedo, Leskanic. What more could you ask for? Sure Clayton, EY, DeJean, and half a dozen others, but pawning off/droping/sending down FIVE guys in half a season because they weren't happening is amazing. Doug melvin would be responsible for those moves, not ned yost
  5. is it possible that steitz was released on his own accord???
  6. .320 obp..... dave..im telling you one bad week and ill go back to say helms isnt good...and i still think ginter is better...and and and dempster sucks!
  7. let me be the first to say it...dempster sucks lets have a good one ben
  8. to quote lardner: "Shut up," dave im taking shakespeare and arthurian romance
  9. it is highly likely that jenkins could have scored from second on nearly any hit that sexson would have gotten..thereby making it kind of pointless to even try for third...getting hosed at thir and hosed at the plate are totally different...i can handle getting caught at the plate much more than just going to third when it probably wouldnt have mattered which base he was on
  10. ill be in the chat room for a little bit if anyone wants to join me
  11. the doomsday preaching on draft day 2002 was fun, but im not sure if that beats the hissy fit i had when dougie traded for wes helms....... hhow is scottie moore doing anyway?
  12. i think rushford deserves another chance...hes still in his prime years...so what if we wont get 10 years of good service out of the guy...maybe he can be good for half a season....to me, rushford is becomming the kieth ginter of the outfield...hes a good hitter...maybe he just had a bad run last year...especially with the suspected injury
  13. i would think hes talking about brian moon
  14. im not sure what you are looking for???? there is no such thing as a sure thing..therefore: loewen is not a sure thing i dont think he is a mark prior or arod...but i do think he has a good chance at being a good #1 starter
  15. indeed...obp doesnt work for: alfonso soriano vlad guerrero garrett anderson if you just looked at their obp..or more so, the difference bewteen their obp and ba, then you might not see them as excellent hitters...but looking at their total stats reveals their ability thats what i think melvin means..not that obp isnt important, but that it is not always the most important statistic for a hitter

  17. keep an eye on Tim Battle..i had a long conversation with someone who knows (i didnt ask if i could share, so ill hold his name..but he is a scout) anyway, he said the brewers have a prticular interest in battle...Obviously, not a first round pick...but a 2nd or 3rd could be a possibility He also mentioned that he thought the brewers biggest problem was pitching...aside from lack of speed... he thought jj hardy was the best prospect, that prince fielder was a dh, and that richie sexson wasnt going anywhere

  19. ok, we know hendrickson will be back on the 11th...but when will we have jj back???
  20. you can question some of Daryl Clark's bombs....but hes got 10 now....i think he might be leading professional baseball...i mean, take away 5 of them..and he is still off to a fantastic start...batting .443 good grief...this is quite possibly the hottest a brewers player has been in the last 5 years...on any level!
  21. is that right??? does Daryl Clark have 9 Hr's??? Holy Crap! another nice outing by Mike Jones...Too Many walks..but didnt let it hurt him too much Boy, Prince Fielder has cooled off and finally, Looks like Corey Hart is returnig to his normal levels
  22. Luis Martinez... even with the walks..whip at .78 anyone else notice his professional stats look eerily like loewen's college stats from this year? Loewen: 52.1 IP, 19 H, 9 ER, 20 BB, 66 K, 1.55 ERA Martinez: 23 IP, 7 H, 0 ER, 11 BB, 33 K, 0 ERA (just for comparison sake, heres what Martinez's stats would look like if he kept this pace till 52 innings): 52.1 IP, 16 H, 25 BB 74! K For me, at least, that pits Luis Martinez incredible start in perspective.. AND NOW...I'd like to take the credit for his start...since i questioned Toby's high ranking of Luis on the power 50, he has suddenly exploded...therefore my questioning must be the reason for the explosion... along those line...Toby, why the heck is Bill Hall still on the power 50? edit: fixed typo
  23. id rather have prince hit 45 hr's and bat .430 with no walks..then have a barry bonds year...we are arguing semantics...hes not walking, because he is hitting every pitch near the strike zone over the fence!! as mentioned above, once pitchers stop throwing him strikes, then his walk totals will go up
  24. JJ HARDY's hit streak comes to an end...but Ben Diggins had 7 solid innings of work..
