  1. I wouldn't want to be the ball with JJ hitting. Prince.
  2. Anyone notice it took Suppan 117-ish pitches to get the complete game? Terrible.
  3. So that would mean I'm still the high bidder?
  4. I had decent seats before the game on Sunday, got into the stadium right when the doors opened and went to my seats in section 110. Once most of the players went in the clubhouse after batting practice Capuano went over by the rail there and just walked up and went up and down the line probably twice without anyone yelling for him to come sign, came over on his own. Seems like a nice guy, as others have said.

    Bats

I'm in a league out in Waukesha and I'm looking to buy a new bat, just wondering what brands you like/have had success with.
  6. This is the type of game that gets me thinking this year really will be different...other years this was the type of game the team packed it in early...hopefully a sign of good things to come. I'm out tho, early class tomorrow, lets get another one tomorrow!
  7. MillerParkSouth...they'll probably be reshowing the game tomorrow at noon or 1, if you know anyone that lives up here you could try to get them to record it for you...I'd offer but I'm at school and my computer DVR thing is at home. Good luck.
  8. Prince loves that Wrigley basket that's for sure.
  9. ...still hoping for some Lou clips from after the game...looking more and more like he didn't do a conference.
  10. That 3-50, .060 average as a team against Hill doesn't sound too nice, but I think they can get him tomorrow.
  11. MillerParkSouth, they showed you guys a bunch, good thing the Brewers pulled it out or I'm sure you guys would have had an interesting walk out of the park.
  12. Great game to watch all around...bullpen was ridiculous. Good work guys.
  13. On top of that, even once Bush let a few guys on in the 9th, he was getting strikeouts and groundouts today and shouldn't have been an immediate concern for Ned.
  14. Just got back from the game...checking in here, seems like alot of people were talking down on Ned for no reason today, didn't read all the posts so forgive me if I'm overstating by saying alot. But, taking Jenkins and Gross out in the bottom of the 8th is a ridiculous idea, the team is up 4-0 and the pitcher is lights out. Not even a question there, plus Jenkins was 3-3 until that point (albeit against a righty). Leaving Bush in for the 9th wasn't a question either, somewhere around 85-90 pitches, if I remember correctly, another no brainer. I didn't like Ned's decision with Aquino on Friday, but this game was perfect until the top of the 9th, and today there was nothing Ned could do about it, if they would have lost the lead it would have been on Coco's shoulders anyways, not Ned's. Great game, we'll take the win!
  15. And with any luck...that will be the last Ricky Botallico reference I see for a long time.
  16. On second thought, this loss is Bill Hall's fault. How could he not catch that Biggio home run.
  17. Like others are saying, Ned tied his hands a day in advance by using Turnbow yesterday... Even for the Ned supporters, which I am 98% of the time, this one pretty much falls on his shoulders...with Aquino right there with him. Well the good news is, Turnbow and Cordero are most definitely available for tomorrow, so lets go get one.
  18. On top of the ridiculous "fielding his position better" comment, Ned also threw out a comment about him having a better slidestep...better than who I'm not sure, probably in reference to Wise. Unfortunately, slidesteps can't prevent stolen bases once he goes in there and loads the bases.
  19. And on the Capellan subject...no he didn't have a good spring...but was his spring so terrible that it should have meant he doesn't make the big league club? Don't think so. Plenty of people have poor, in some cases very poor springs, and then as soon as the regular season comes tear things apart. Bottom line, in my opinion, is that Capellan pitched well enough last year to have made the big league club regardless of his spring performance...then, if he struggles enough, there's the actual justification for sending him down. Right now, it could just be a no win situation with Capellan, who was put into a tough spot, maybe unjustly, and certainly didn't just tough it out and prove he deserved to make the club with his antics...on the field is a different story. Tough situation for all parties involved.
  20. By no means am I a Ned hater, even though I question his bullpen usage in the past, and that came up again tonight. First, let me say I think he's done nice things in Milwaukee, even without having a winning record on a season yet. But...he deserves to take a little heat for this one, especially based on the rationale he offered after the game as to why he chose Aquino. From my viewpoint atleast, if Yost goes with Turnbow or Cordero (and still lose), I don't think he deserves the heat. With Turnbow and Cordero you know what your getting, and if they get beat, they get beat. Sure Turnbow had a hiccup yesterday, but that isn't indicative of what he's done on the season. But with Aquino's outings this year, aside from one, there, in my mind, is no justification for bringing him in in a 2-2 game in the top of the 9th against the team that is hot on your tail in second place.
  21. I'm with you AJ...and I'm not just saying that based on tonight or this season...I've been thinking that for a few years now, and I take alot of crap for it. I know that every manager makes countless decisions each year that are easy for fans to criticize and monday morning quarterback about, but with Yost his bullpen management/use just seems off, somewhat frequently and I get the feeling as soon as I see a guy coming into a game. Like Aquino tonight, I don't know that there's many people that can justify bringing him in in that situation. And for the record, both Turnbow and Cordero were shown warming in the bullpen, within 10-15 minutes of the 9th inning, so it's not like they warmed up then sat for a lengthy period of time where sitting would have been a factor.
  22. And now saying he would have used Cordero in the 10th if the opportunity presented itself. Which leads you to the question... WHY NOT USE HIM IN THE 9TH IN THE EXACT SITUATION YOU WOULD HAVE HAD, HAD YOU PLANNED HIM IN THE 10TH?
  23. Anyone watching Yost BS to the media about Aquino's slidestep...jeez.
  24. They also showed Turnbow stretching and going through balls getting ready to warm-up...I say you have to have Turnbow or Cordero in the 9th, regardless.
