  1. I hope Jeffress keeps his velocity high and becomes a chronic part of our bullpen. He may be a little green, but it would be really nice to see him come up to the majors and throw smoke. That'd be dope.
  2. I would have rather seen Kintzler get sent down, but I'll take it. This bullpen needs a shot in the arm and Jeffress may be able to help us.
  3. He's having a good - not great - season... but this season makes me worried he's going to slowly decline down to the point where he is loathed for the salary he is making during the last few years of his contract. If he's this banged up at age 30, how are things going to be a few years from now? I don't like it one bit. I wish that second extension would've never happened, and it upsets me that the Brewers might not have contracted the guy they thought they did. When the guy is healthy he's a top 5 player in baseball, but I'm worried he's never going to be healthy again. I can see Braun eventually becoming a guy that plays 80 games or less most years and possibly having an OPS under .800 and getting paid 20 million dollars for it, and it makes me mad. I think Brewer fans will be lucky to see him get anywhere near his 2011/2012 numbers ever again.
  4. I agree with DS... I just don't buy into the Cardinals offense and they have been just too unlucky with injuries. I don't see them sticking around unless the rest of the division finishes much worse than I am expecting them to. I think this race is between the Reds and the Brewers.
  5. Exactly. So many prospects get so much hype and are treated as if they are can't-miss impact MLB players... well it sure seems like most of them don't pan out for one reason or another. A lot of things happen during the progression from the minor leagues to the majors. Development, lack of development, personal problems, injuries... tons of things can go wrong and often do. You also get players that develop into great players that you never expected them to be when they were drafted in the 10th round. What I'm saying is... you can't tell a lot of the time. You can try your best, but highly-touted prospects fairly regularly end up amounting to nothing. You don't discard being in the place the Brewers are in right now. They have a real chance to do something this year, and they will add pieces to try and make a run. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this thread.
  6. Yeah, pretty sure I'm turning this one off. They don't stand a chance with Wainright pitching, the whole Jean thing is a huge bummer, and Gabe Kapler is annoying the crap out of me.
  7. Does anyone really believe we'll play better after the ASB than we did before the ASB? We'll play sub .500 ish, we'll fade into oblivion, the Packers season will start. I'm optimistic about the Packers season! you are in the wrong thread
  8. There is so much season left to either fall out of it or build up that lead in the division again. There's no reason to panic. This week has sucked hard, but there are better times ahead.
  9. that low strike to Davis was one of the worst strike calls I can remember this year. that would've been ball 4 and put men on 1st and 2nd with either 0 or 1 out (i forget) Just a terrible call
  10. Khrush sure has looked great compared to the first month or so - especially his eye at the plate.
  11. Before tonight, Wooten had given up 10 runs this year in 33 appearances. Half of those runs came in one game. 5 runs in 32 appearances. Yep - Rock mentioned that. Wooten's been pretty good. Kintzler has not - I continue to be shocked as they put him into important situations.
  12. Former Brewers catcher. I always liked him as a back-up catcher, but apparently he's bad at playing catcher because he has been on a million teams in the past few years despite being a guy that took his walks and hit for good power.
  13. I would like to see this. I don't remember it. I remember the .gif that's already been posted in this thread very well.
  14. Is there any possible way for both the Pirates and Cardinals to lose tonight? That's what I need to know.
  15. Apparently MLB is strict about checking out bogus injuries when it comes to Rule 5 guys. There are certain things that aren't diagnostically provable, but the Brewers probably don't want bad mojo.
  16. where's that crazy guy that says all the positive things and acts like he has ESP?
  17. That's just asking for bad karma dude. someone delete that post before we are struck down. it might've happened already but i dont want to take any chances.
