  1. I doubt he gets a break the bank type deal. I think he is the perfect Brewer FA signing. Veteran switch hitter with power who can play multiple positions and isn't too expensive. ...and who is not a difference maker, which is what this offense is desperate for.
  2. This is so easy it's not even funny...for a year the Brewers can boost the payroll..give Castellanos 3yrs 60 mill(I go 66 mill if I need to to get it done). Next year Cain comes off the books...that's 17 mill of that amount right there. So essentially they raise payroll by 5 million. Sportrac has them at 105 million for next year, if they can't raise it another 20-22 million for ONE year(essentially) then they might as well just start trading guys and punt. Yeah, what's $22 million? A drop in the bucket! I don't think he is saying 22 million is a drop in the bucket. As much as I disagree with most of what he says, he is right on this. If we can't raise our payroll for one season, while we have the pitching, then we aren't going to be any better than last year. I'd argue we will possibly be even worse off. Garcia is already gone, who replaces him currently? Taylor? I'm on board with that idea, however, he is not a given, so it is risky. We are going to need to open the purse strings a little if we intend to take the next step. It's just the way it is. Is Castellanos our answer? I guess that is up to Stearns to figure out, but this is the exact right time to spend more than what we normally do. If not now, when?
  3. I don't think Escobar showed us a good enough reason to re-sign him to be honest. If we got a good deal, sure, maybe he'd be better for a full year than he was in his short time with us. He's not the kind of guy we should break the bank for though.
  4. I have a chromebook for school and am pretty happy with it. Granted, we have endless storage through our school server, but you can just use google for storage, right?
  5. I'm ok with that, will be interesting to see what he gets on the open market. He might regret his decision...
  6. Turn the page, nothing to see here.
  7. Yeah, I don't think the A's would be that interested in Hader if rebuilding.
  8. People in this thread welcoming him back, saying he is a gold glove finalist, etc. He is/was a bust. What kind of rebound can we hope for? A guy who might hit .210? He is crap on a cracker, I'd like to out and out cut him to be honest. I can't sit through another season of watching him hit, I just can't. I'd rather give Ray a shot, he can't be any worse than what we had to endure last season from JBJ.
  9. I wouldn't mind Garcia coming back, but I don't want him on a big 4 - 5 year deal. I don't think he is going to age well, and even though some say he was average or slightly better defensively, I completely disagree. I think he is on his way to being a complete hack in the OF, so he is destined to be a DH. If he is the best we can do at DH for the next 4-5 years, I'd pass. 2 year deal is the most I'd be willing to give him. Bridge the gap until Mitchell, Gray, etc make their way up the ladder. Also, I can't say for certain that Taylor playing a full season, wouldn't be better or equal to Garcia right now...
  10. Not great. But also 100% expected. There was a below 0% chance he wasn't going to exercise that option after the season he had. Agreed, but sometimes a lemon is a lemon, and JBJ is a giant lemon. It's ok to admit it. Just a huge waste of money, and now we have to deal with it.
  11. C'mon guys. This is not good, you can slice this any way you want, but it is still a big poop sandwich.
  12. Geez, I thought this was current. Whew!
  13. I don't think this thread has to deal with current movies only, if so, it has never been stated that way.
  14. Man I have seen some funky spellings of Turang on these pages. lol
  15. I hate the title of this thread. over
  16. right...
  17. My city had trick or treating from 4-8 on Halloween. 4 hours is too damn long to be answering the door. 3 hours should be plenty. We could leave candy out and not answer the door, but then it all goes to one kid, little thieving brats, get off my lawn! I had 3 neighbors who tried that last year and their candy bowls and all the candy was stolen within minutes... Even took the bowls.
  18. I watched "2012" last weekend. I hadn't seen it since it was released in 2009. It just doesn't seem that long ago. 2012 is NOT a Must See movie.
  19. Image isn't working. I'd very much like to know what it is. Works for me... Moving goalposts...
  20. I believe we will sign one free agent bat, and trade for another. No way we go into the 2022 season standing pat with what we currently have minus Garcia and Escobar. I don't think we will have either of those guys back though...
  21. You might have a lot better luck on the "Wisconsin Bobblehead and SGA Exchange" Facebook page. Lots of traffic there...
  22. I wouldn't call Rosario dumpster diving... He didn't have a great year during the regular season though, but far from dumpster diving.
  23. The offense wasn't going to get it done, most of us knew that...
